I am struggling with this release. It prices out around $150 USD according to the link. I would believe that this completely cannibalizes the M7 sales for $50 less. What is the point of the M7?

That, I'm not sure of! I would assume eventually Fiio would release an international firmware version as well

Actually, my Chinese speaking friend spoke to the rep on JD. It supports english.
In fact looking at FiiO's past track record for other FiiO(firmware releases, etc) they only have 1 firmware version for their DAPS.

Excellent!

It does make sense that English should be supported right out of the box; it is afterall, just built on a custom flavour of Android
