[FiiO M5] Compact and Versatile Hi-Res Music Player

The FiiO site never had a separate webpage for the M5. The home page has a link to an M5 video.

FWIW, I thought I looked at the FIIO site a while back, and the M5 was listed at the top in the horizontal select list. If it was there, it is not there now. I remember lots of specs and other printed information. Maybe I was remembering the initial announcement letter. I also think it was supposed to ship in May 2019.

FiiO announced the M5 (and a couple of other models) in March and put out press releases with information, which were picked up by tech and audio websites. FiiO also posted teaser videos of the M5 on their Facebook and Twiiter pages. However I never saw the M5 on the FiiO website except for the video. This thread actually seems to have the most complete "official" information about the product.

So, July instead of May? Bummer. At 100 u$s I'd definitely buy it.
My understanding (from something James told me) is that you can do line out with a COAX to RCA adapter, for example. Now thinking it over, maybe it won't be LO, just PO directed to an AMP (double amping?)

Still interested, hope it comes around soon before I spend the money in something else :D

So in one place you say it support lossless BT transmitting but your table only show aptXHD as best BT transmitting codec - and that is not lossless - can you clarify please

Also will it support USB BT transmitter function
Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback.
It was the previous design plan for the M5 but not the final design. As for the final parameters, you may refer to our website soon. The M5 would support lossless BT transmitting LDAC instead.

Best regards

That's great news!

And what about function of USB BT transmitter?

Pc/phone usb > M5 BT ldac transmission > headphones
Would that be possible?
