Hi,

Fiio have sent me a link to the A12 beta firmware but I have no idea how to install/update the M23 using the files provided.

Can anyone explain how I do this?

Copy the firmware zip file to DAP, go to Settings->System->System Update->Local upgrade and select the path to this file.

I go back and forth between my FATFreq Scarlets and my Thieaudio Oracle MKII's. I love both pairings but my favorite is the Scarlets. They hit hard but have great detail with the M23 as well.

I prefer to avoid low sensitivity and/or too high or too low impedance phones. It frees me from the thoughts about combinations.

I'll have a look at those. I don't necessarily need another pair of cans but there's always that lust for something different and new.

The HD 660s at 150 ohms have been working very well for me in the super high gain desktop mode. I wonder could the M23 drive even more demanding phones around 300 ohms.

Easily at moderate volume.

I have occasionally used my (300 ohm) HD600 from my M11 Plus and it does just fine.

High impedance is easier to drive than low for a given sensitivity because that requires voltage swing while low impedance requires current swing which is generally more demanding of an amplifier.

I would say neutral and slightly warm.

OK so got connected to a powerbank but the battery on the M23 still discharges albeit slower.....would that be right?

Do you get a notification "Desktop mode ON? Normally I see no drop in battery charge level for hours, also with external DAC connected to other USB port on M23
