Agreed - more air is a good one!I think you captured the description perfect " more air " .... the UAPP MQA sounds better than the native Tidal App...

I asked fiio what was the change from FW 0604 to FW 0610.... the reply from fiio...
" The engineer did not provide the change log to us. But the click issue with some music file may be fixed now.
Best regards "
and we know from fiio FW 0604 is
" Global MQA support has been added for the players since beta0604 firmware.(now the player supports 8x MQA unfolding even when playing MQA tracks in third-party apps. However it not include Tidal, Tidal will update a version to adapt our product later)
Best regards "

Fiio complained, that the Tidal player make conversion for all 24 bit audio stream to 16 on every Android 7 device, and Tidal have to fix the player's behavior at least for the affected Fiio devices.
Converted mqa is not mqa anymore, that's the cause why the Fiio's mqa decoder can't recognize the stream as mqa.
There is just the hope, if Tidal will done this soon.

Thanks, I've been wanting to try one of those ifi iematch dongles for 2.5mm IEM's to see it's effect. Kinda pricey at $60.This is a good read for those with sensitive iEM sets... https://media.ifi-audio.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/iEMatch-Tech-NotesJune17.pdf
Compared to ifi's $379 USB 2.0 DAC cable, that iematch is a bargain.

Yup, iEMatch was designed specifically to help them.

Considering what it does, I agree. A small little thing that saved many people from going crazy

I see your a person who has both m15 and dx220 max. Which one do you prefer?I am very sorry. I completely forgot about it. At least with my 9 ohm average A18t there is no audible difference. By the way, something like this could help with impedance problems, I guess. The price is a bit too high, but might be handy (there is also the 2.5mm version):

Talking about iEMatch, will a 4.4mm pentaconn version be made?

Is it before the recent events at the DX220 Max forums or after? In any case, I think both are great and complementary devices. But as a portable player M15 is for me is a beast that should be an example to all DAP manufacturers out there as a design - especially as software platform. I haven't seen any Hiby devices yet, though.

I once got in trouble on dx220 site for saying the battery life was awful. Their thread puts me off ibasso stuff. See the the wm1a/wm1z or a cayin thread for a friendlier place. Fiio threads are usually good to.Is it before the recent events at the DX220 Max forums or after? In any case, I think both are great and complementary devices. Just remember to add iBasso and iBasso fanboys to the list of my dislikes about MAX with three minus sign in the beginning.

Can't speak for dx220max but for me the M15 is the better player compared to the DX220. Just a little better across the spectrum really. Others I know think differently and it could just be it suits my music preferences more.
