Managed to snag an open box deal. Availability in general seems to be pretty good here in Germany. This seems to be such a good overall package, can't wait to try it out with my assortment of IEMs and headphones.

I ordered it from a well-known french website. They say that they will be refilled in a 7-10 days time frame...I hope that it is true because even if sounds is good, using my iPhone is too distracting at work that is why I bought a dedicated DAP (I owned a Sony Walkman some years ago which I gave to my father), especially this M11 Plus which had Android 10 and all the features I want. Did you really shipped more units ? I also saw from another french website the "back in stock in september" information.

So I finally received it sooner as expected so I am pretty pleased, ironically I ordered a Denon D5200 before and it is still waiting for stock so I will use it for now with my Sony MDR1000X at work.
My first raction was : wow, this is really big. I mean, from pictures I thought it would have been a lot smaller like my former entry-level Walkman (I do not remember the number, maybe NW-A45 or 55 something like that). In fact it is bigger than my iPhone 11 Pro + Smart Battery Case, in fact thicker than that but the face is similar. It is also quite heavy so it is not that portable for all usages. It is fine by me since I will use it at work, but I was surprised.
Aside from that, ergonomics is fine, maybe a bit too sensitive for me (both tactile and sound level tactile surface to which I will have to be used to), but nothing really negative.
Build quality is good and all responds quickly. Display is also pretty good for a LCD panel.

I tried playing music with both AKG 712 Pro and Sennheiser HD560S on gain HIGH (default) and surprinsingly the output is not a lot louder than the iPhone 11 Pro + Lightning adapter, in fact I could go almost at max with AKG 712 Pro and it was not that loud (too much for a long use but bearable). It is still enough, but maybe it has to do with EU regulation ? I know that the Sony Walkman EU version maximum sound level was lower than other regions. Anyway, the sound is clean so it is fine.
I also tried line output to Cayin iHA-6 and it worked fine.

I have yet to explore all the options, it seems very well featured so it is so far really neat.

Anyone know of an Android system wide PEQ app? Would love to use my LCDi4

Cipher Cable, USB-C adapter by Anker. Otherwise, use Neutron or similar. I have the iSine 20. I feel ya.

Thanks. I'm trying to somehow get PEQ to work with Apple Music. Cipher cable definitely works fine but want to listen to the full capability of the M11+ DAC. The Apple Music has a 5 band GEQ, but pretty far off from the complex PEQ/Reveal plugin.

AKG 712 Pro are hard to drive headphones. Nothing wrong with your device i reckon, just that's the capability of the player with these headphones.

I too am disappointed by what seems like underpowered single-ended playback from the M11+ Ltd. Maybe I'm expecting too much with Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro (250ohm, 102 dBSPL @ 1mW/500Hz) - but a FiiO customer support person claims "M11 Plus drives it well" with the similarly-spec'd Beyerdynamic T90. I'm skeptical.

Any feedback on how these would do with some classic hd800? My old DAP is dying, and I would love something to drive them when I am sitting at home working; I love the specs and looks of this player, but if they don't mesh well in sound....

AKG 712 Pro are hard to drive headphones. Nothing wrong with your device i reckon, just that's the capability of the player with these headphones.

Are you using it balanced?
Single ended power is limited.

I used it unbalanced with stock cables, it was mostly a surprise than a real disappointement for my own case - as I will almost never use it (directly) with these two headphones, i.e. HD560S and K712 Pro, as I have a desktop setup including DAP, even if power is technically enough even if it is not optimal - but that is something that a buyer might check before (I thought that a dedicated DAP would be a lot more powerful than an iPhone, the K712 runs OK at maybe 66-75% on Apple Dongle which is similar that is why I wondered about EU policy).

At work I plugged Sony MDR-1000X to it (powered on with ANC, wired) and of course the power was plenty enough (15-20 i.e. ~
12-16%) and Denon D5200 seems very sensitive with regular consumer impedance so it will probably be fine.
I swear that the sound was truly better than the one produced by the iPhone dongle with MDR-1000X, which surprised me because they are mass-market ANC BT powered headphones. Another thing I was not thinking about before purchase : the line output mode produced enough voltage for my car RCA aux so that the sound was considerably better compared to the Apple dongle for this use case (because I did not have to raise the car volume at max, so I have a lot less distortion).

So I am plenty satisfied overall, even if it might be an overkill purchase for my use :p
