Heck, I'd like to see 4 or 8 card slots! Not a joke. With DSF albums weighing in at over 4gb sometimes or 24192's at 2-3gb routinely, it's heavy going. 400gb cards are a great optimal size/price right now, and 4x400gb is not inconceivable.

Currently I'm watering down my heavy HD files to 2448 or 2444 to make more fit. It's all still a compromise.

Damn these 1st world problems, lol.

Yup...lack of 2nd card slot kills the pro for me. Glad that I'm extremely happy with my M11. Should last me long enough until a better dap is released with dual SD!
Me too, although not necessarily for the second slot but $500 is the top end of what I was willing to spend on a dap (considering it’s not a desktop replacement). Luckily For the M11 does everything I need and more, sounds as good as daps costing twice as much, and has perfect synergy (was probably designed for) the best IEMs I’ve ever had the fortune of hearing (and now owning). So yeah, endgame for me (for the foreseeable future).

One of the great advantages of the M11 is that with Plex and access to Wi-Fi I have full access to my entire library from anywhere in the world. And at home I just use FiiO’s DLNA access for anything I don’t physically have on the player. I guess it’s a bit different for DSF albums that generally don’t stream over DLNA, but with two slots you should have plenty of space for all your DSF files. That’s assuming the M11 is your only/primary source of music, which for me it isn’t.

https://www.headfonia.com/fiio-m11-review/6/

"Through the balanced output, the sound stage is massive, so much it could rival A&K on this point."

Sorry I pay no attention to such thing as they are paid to sell it.

I do read reviews as good way of getting an idea of what the features of the device are and what else is out there thought.

"I recived this unit for free in return for an honest review" hahahahaha pure LIES they have been bought for the price of the device sorry for the rant

When you stream with DLNA, does it transcode at all? In other words, if I stream my FLAC files through DLNA, will they still be lossless quality? Thanks.

It should :)

Enable the DLNA server in Plex Media Server to stream music in FLAC format without conversion.

Hope this helps

No such thing as a stupid question, we were all new to the Mythical beast that is the M11 at some point in time :)

I hope you enjoy your time with it :)

I see, But I read that some people say the balanced gives a bigger soundstage and/or better sound in general is that not true?

ords=fiio+balanced+cable&qid=1564063317&s=gateway&sprefix=fiio+balanced,aps,376&sr=8-18

If I want to use my 3,5 mm cable with the balanced 2,5mm port will this work? Will I get Balanced sound or whatever it is called?

Usually besides more power the balanced output has better crosstalk (stereo separation) that can give you a wider sound stage, well the perception of one at least  You need balanced cables- a ground for each channel and a 4 pole plug- either 2.5 or 4.4 to use balanced. Basically you have to get bakanced cables.

Now here's the rub, the fiio has a very nicely done 3.5 out so you might get a bit tighter bass and some better definition from the power and a little more space, but not a huge difference.

Now on some daps I've had, zx300 comes to mind, the single out was meh, but the balanced was awesome. So I guess it depends on how the manufacturers engineers design their circuits.

Now Sony themselves said they put all the work into the balanced out of the zx300 to sound similar to their flagships, but skimped on the single out. Their engineer said that himself, I like the upfrontness.

Anyways what I'm trying to say in a horribly long winded and inefficient way is the 3.5 of the m11 sounds very good. Also if you want or need the extra juice or want to savor the balanced out there are a ton of cables if your cans support balanced

Whew.
