I just got my M11. The DAP looks and feels amazing, but I am not sold on the sq. Out of the box, it has too much highs. Everything sounds too sparkly and clean, but I would like to tame those highs. Will the burn in do that? will the end result be slightly warm?

In my mind it does tame a bit with burn in. But it really does depend on your headphones for the match. My XBA-Z5s need something a bit bright as they're naturally warm sounding, so the M11 is a great match.

I don't find it overly bright though I do use the balanced outputs exclusively. I would also recommend if you are comfortable to download the latest beta software (http://fiio-file.fiio.net/M11-ota-20200623.zip) as this improves the M11 quite dramatically.

Whenever I switch on my DAP and connect my iem to it, there is a slight static noise( other times it's fine) and when I play something for the first time, there is a pop. I am using the 1.09 firmware which is latest. Is it normal?

I have never experienced this. Is is happening across all of your IEMs/Headphones? Have you tried other app players?

There is a faint pop, usually when changing from one former to another ..... I.e. from aac 192kbps to say ALAC 16/44 or ALAC 24/96

Hey @FiiO, Is there any way to stop my bluetooth from auto connecting to the last device it was connected to? It is very inconvenient when moving from place to place or switching out head phones as the unit will not connect to the new device as its searching for the old one. This sometimes can take a while.
Thanks!

I just realized that every time I change the song, it doesn't matter if it is flac to 16 bits, 24 bits, etc., always before starting the sound there is a "Plop", change of the song "Plop", I go back the song "Plop, .

Anyone else with this problem? I have the beta version that came up here

Regards

Are you listening to Tidal MQA via UAPP?

I'm pessimistic that Tidal will update their app for to allow FiiO to do the unfolding. That is making me hesitant to upgrade to the beta fw. Not sure really any point otherwise.

No UAPP. Most of the masters I have is only 88/96 anyway. I looked through the tidal MQA list the other night and anything higher is far and few between. Classical is really the only genre I saw at higher bitrate and that's not something I listen to.

Beta fw has quite a few improvements (wifi being one of them), I'd recommend it regardless of mqa capability.

How does one put physical media into this device (and the attached SD card) when connected to a Windows computer? Is it drag and drop from the get go?

Believe it or not, I’ve never attached an Android device to my PC like ever.

When you plug the m11 into your computer it will only pull up the drivers folder. Once you install the samsung usb drivers from the folder it will then come up and a media device and you can drag and drop files to it. If you're moving a lot of music you may wanna pop the sd card out and put it into a usb adapter to transfer music. The m11 is usb 2.0(feels like it anyways) and is fairly slow to transfer a lot of files. Single files and maybe an album or two at a time isn't bad. I tried to move an updated 60gb of music once and did it via usb and was like "oh.... NOPE"
