You could always test it with Onkyo HF Player from playstore but you require to purchase it. It has the same so called 'All To DSD' feature yet you need to attached it to an external DAC, then select the real-time DSD Conversion which has 4 option of conversion:
- DSD 2.8 MHz

- High-Precision DSD 2.8 MHz
- DSD 5.6 MHz
- High-Precision DSD 5.6 MHz

I may have been missing something as I use the Onkyo player on my iPhone & iPad for Hi-Res files and using the DAC on the lightning/cipher cable for my iSine 20's. I'll investigate a bit further. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'm in China - JD are sending out orders tomorrow!
On the potential downside, we'll be the test-group for the firmware but I'm fine with that!
That's great. Do you know if the unit you get from JD will have English language support as well? Have you bought Fiio daps from them before and do they ship with English as well? Thanks.

That's just not true. Can you name another dap in the ~$500 price bracket with 128GB storage?
Ok, daps over 500 usd should have 128 internal gigs. My 2010 dap had 64 gigs. Fiios three yr old daps had 32 gigs.

I just don't think it's an issue. With 128GB and 256GB MicroSD cards going down in price (and almost always on sale at Amazon), rather keep the price of the player low with less storage and buy as much extra storage as you need. I don't use more than 64GB of my 128GB card on the M9 and would rather pay $450 for a player with 32GB than $600 for a player with more storage than I need, especially since I stream much of my music nowadays anyway. No doubt FiiO will have a higher end player with 64GB or 128GB built-in storage later this year, but that's not the product I'm interested in. Streaming and Wi-Fi really have changed the landscape for music nowadays.

Glad that you dont need, I dont beed but I prefer. My Cayin N8 came with 128 gigs, but I put a 512 gig sd and its full. My SP1000 came with 256 internal gigs and thats great. My Cowon L came with a 256 thats great. Yeah this dap holds two cards so I can put I guess two 256 gig sd cards? Two 400 gig cards but heck Ill pay an extra 50 usd for a 128 internal gig card.

Just remind yourself that this is a $449 dap. Work out how much those other daps cost. For the price of an N8 you can have an M11 with 2TB of SD storage. Need to compare apples with apples.

I would prefer three or even four uSD card slots and no internal memory. Fiio and others are you listening? The first to put four uSD slots on a DAP will sell millions of units. :)

Thats one way of looking at it.

If M11 can't

Stream 192k 24bit hi res from Qobuz / Tidal via WiFi
While
downloading a queue of hi res files to its offline library
and
Transmit 990kb LDAC hi res playback

All at the same time

It will be a disappointment IMHO.

Because doing all the above simultaneously is regular use case for Qobuz / Tidal / streaming.

And can't be done on my M9 - (I can't even delete downloaded music from Qobuz)

(I like to stream stuff to play back then cherry pick albums I think I might like and download them)

Please check the M11 for micro gaps (normal MP3 / FLAC files) and gapless playback (normal FLAC).
In addition pls check the LDAC BT connection comp. with the M11. M7 and M9 had massive problems with BT devices before fixed (app crashes / button skip problems / WiFi distortions due to 2,4 GHz).
Furthermore pls check for gapless playback and EQ while transcoding "all" files to DSD and check if there a pre gain implemented for DSD files (-3 / -6 dB pre gain). Thanks :)

True, the Cowon cost 2,000 usd while this Fiio is much less but to me even 64 internal gigs is small, even in a 300 usd dap.

32GB is plenty for the OS and Apps. The external storage is for everything else.

You can always splash out on one of the most expensive DAPs ever and get Zero! onboard memory, i.e. the LPGT
True but it can hold a 1TB card. Big issue is its sound.
