[FiiO LC-RE/LC-RE Pro/LC-RE Pro 2022] MMCX cable Gold-Silver-Copper swappable plug Earphone Cable

using them with OG solaris. Interesting sound, enough weight, a bit laid back, but still big in presentation. For reference I own the Gold 16, SXC 8, and REF 8 plus a bunch of other cables.
Hi Haoyuan, greetings!

Would really love to know how REF 8 cable compares to LC-RE Pro as I also got the REF 8 and OG Solaris combo.

I liked them a lot but I feel the treble(maybe the upper mids) is a tiny bit on the harsh side, and I can hear background hiss with that setup, plus REF 8 cable is kinda stiff and has a lot of microphonics. Last but not least, LC-RE pro has swappable plugs which will be so much more convenient.

If the LC-RE pro cable can add a little bit to the bass and retain most of REF8's technicalities and doesn't hurt og solaris' sound signature too much, then it will be a no-brainer for me.

Two quick questions for Fiio official account.
Do you guys know if this cable can fit the new Sennheiser IE600?
Also want to know if we can easily REMOVE this cable from SONY IER-Z1R... I saw a couple of posts that the cable is easy to put on, but kinda hard to take off...

Dear ACGNerd1989,

If the headphones are using standard MMCX connector, it could theoretically work with our cable.
And according to the feedback from the ie900 user, the MMCX connector of ie900 is a special one which is not compatible with other MMCX cable. So if ie600 is using the same MMCX connector, it will not be compatible with the LC-RE.

Best regards

I think it’s exactly what you’re looking for, the REF8 is too clinical on the Solaris and this cable fixes that.

@FiiO What´s your analysis of the green tarnish on some of the LC RE cables? What is it? Does it affect sound quality?

Mine also have produced it.

Thanks.
Dear Joaco,

The sound quality will not be affected. When did you buy the LC-RE? Since it has stopped production for a long time, we do not have any LC-RE left now.

Best regards

I bought it on March 2021.
Dear Joaco,

Sorry so it is out of warranty now. If you would like to replace it to LC-RE Pro, you may need to pay for the replacement.
And since the sound quality would not be affected, you could keep using the LC-RE still.
We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime!

Best regards

@FiiO Which is the "inconvenience" you apologize for?

You must be joking suggesting I would buy a replacement of the same cable that tarnished. It would tarnish again. Won´t it?

It´s more likely I will never buy a FiiO product again and that I will spread out my bad experience with this one.

I bought a "high-end" cable from you and it tarnished in a year. Shameful. Your design/production processes and your customer support should be revised.

Oxidation happens with all cables. Generally it’s sealed at the connectors but could break open as you move and play with the connectors weakening the seal. Also things like sweat will contribute since that is acidic. If it’s your first cable ever then I’d understand your frustration but truth is it doesn’t affect sound quality at all.

Dude, I´m not pretending to discuss but I´ll answer your post. FiiO answered me that my cable is out of warranty. They accept my cable is defective.

Oxidation affects diferent materials in diferent ways. General consensus is it affects SQ on copper and that it affects less or none on silver and gold. One of the 3 materials used is pure copper so oxidation does affect SQ of the FiiO LC RE.

Most cable manufacturers go a long way trying to avoid oxidation. This hasn´t been the case.

And don´t forget about esthetics. It´s secondary to SQ but it is important. I don´t want oxidized cables with transparent sleeves hanging off my ears.

More than Pro! FiiO's Headphone Cable LC-RE Pro 2022 Is Coming!

Since the LC-RE Pro was released last September, it has been warmly welcomed among users. Also, it was the winner of the VGP 2022 SUMMER Award. Today, the pro edition, LC-RE Pro 2022, is coming in a new way.

Compared to the last generation, the LC-RE Pro 2022 has made a further step in terms of wires. That is, each strand comes with 10 monocrystalline gold-plated copper wires +15 monocrystalline pure silver wires + 20 monocrystalline copper wires. 8 strands in the LC-RE Pro 2022 means a total of 360 wires in the cable. Compared to the previous generation, the increase in the number of wires in the cable means that per channel, the wire diameter has increased to 24AWG. This means that the conductor diameter and cross-sectional area are larger, which effectively reduces impedance and signal transmission loss. Ultimately, this improves signal transmission efficiency and results in better sound.

The upgrades to the LC-RE Pro 2022 not only come from the increase in amount of wires, but also from different proportions of the amount of each type of wire. Gold, silver and copper are allocated in a 2:3:4 ratio for the optimal balance of speed, warmth, and detail.

What's more, the LC-RE Pro 2022 follows the tradition as a flagship. It uses gold, silver, and copper as the materials that make up its inner core. After high temperature sintering, casting and secondary smelting, a single crystal is formed – special processes to treat impurities are then carried out to improve wire purity to minimize signal transmission loss in the wire. Due to this careful treatment of wires made out of gold, silver and copper, the LC-RE Pro 2022 is able to capitalize on the advantages of each type of material for a comprehensive upgrade to sound quality.

It never ignores the details. The LC-RE Pro 2022 features angled expanded MMCX connectors for greater usability. The mid-section and the plug are made of medical grade 316L stainless steel – which is more durable and more comfortable when wearing. Besides, the twist-lock swappable audio plug design is more convenient for users.

Keep features of the LC-RE Pro 2022 include:

--Gold, silver and copper wires braided mix

--8 strands totaling 360 wires

--Stainless steel angled MMCX

--Litz braided wires

--Twist-lock swappable audio plugs

--Transparent German TPU sheath

--“Left blue right red” easy identification

Hi, @FiiO! Is the LC RE Pro 2022 available from any vendors in America, or only on AliExpress?
