I was super excited when they announced the K5 Pro!

I own the X5III, and the K5 is next to my bed for listening time before bed to help me fall asleep and they sound great. I've used it as a DAC, but then I ended up used it less often everywhere else since my pc is on like 6 hours a day in my office, so this was a perfect solution within my budget! I really hope I win!

Been using Fiio since 2011 with the M11 as my newest one and would love to upgrade my K5 to the pro.

i would love this, its perfect for what i want to do, because i just realized, i could use the line out to go to my mini desktop 2.0 speaker amp - i've been searching madly over the last few days to find a viable replacement for my amp (because of its low quality 1/4" headphone out). could this be the solution? i love the work you guys do @FiiO i have one of the first versions of the X3 and i love it, my DT990's sound great with it. sort of on a budget at the moment, but ill definitely be saving up to buy this if my thoughts on setup are correct. could someone could please confirm if it would work in the way i suggested?

I have a couple questions about K5 Pro's line-out.

Does the line-out switch off if the headphones are plugged in?
Does the volume control change the level of the line-out, or is it a fixed output line-out?

Knowing fiio, it's most likely a variable output, but if you switch it to 0dB and put the knob all the way, it's the same like if you had fixed line out.

If I were to connect this up to my active monitors via the line out can the volume be controlled from the dial on the front?

Also will this work stand alone or does it need a computer to work?
