What is ASIO Buffer size and what Should I set it to?

Also Can 3rd Party USB C to USB C cable damage the unit?

I need a longer cable and I have a USB C port on my PC, I want to use that so I can free some USB port.

What should I look for in a USB C Cable for the FiiO K3. e.g Output Power

Dear friend,

You could get a usb c cable with data transmission function which could theoretically work.

Best regards

Dear friend,

Smaller ASIO Buffer size would lead to smaller delay. However, smaller ASIO Buffer size would make distortion easier and you would need to add the ASIO Buffer size at that time.
So the value of the ASIO Buffer size should not be set to small generally, If the output now is normally, you don't need to adjust it.

Best regards

Does it harm or matters if I leave it ON all the time, 24/7?

Or should I turn it off if I'm not using it?
Dear friend,

No, it doesn't matter.
But it is recommended to turn off the volume switch when not using it.

Best regards

QUESTION:

  • Do I need to UNPLUG any Headphone / IEM While I Connect & Use the Optical Out to my AVR?
Dear friend,

The signal will output from the optical out at that time. So it is not necessary to unplug the headphone.

Best regards

Got mine yesterday. Having a hell of a time getting dsd playing natively. It’s more of a dac then an amp. Won’t power my 1060c enough. Good for iems but that’s about it. I was using my o2 amp to power it but went back to my o2 and sound blaster ae5. Less hassle and cleaner desktop

Really appreciate the Product Support. I have another NOOB Question.

There is no AMPage for the Coaxial & Optical right? Meaning it is safe for me to Add / use a more Powerful dedicated Headphone AMP Correct?

Dear friend,

Yes, coaxial or optical output will bypass the amplifier in the K3.

More QUESTION!

What happens if I have coaxial and optical connected to two different device at the same Time. E.g Optical goes to AVR and Coaxial connect to External Headphone AMP. Do both coaxial and optical play / work simultaneously?

If you’re using COAX or Optical out - you’re sending a digital signal. So you can’t send it to an external amp. It has to go to a DAC/amp.

A digital signal is digital - it has to go through a DAC to convert to analog.
