How does one tell the difference between the older BTR5 and the BTR5 2021? Outward appearance is the same. Can one tell when turning it on? What to look for? Thanks.

Update: I must be blind. Now I see the MQA on the 2021 version. But it's curious that the FCC ID: R56-FCIDBT and the CMIT ID: 2020DP1073 are the same. That's why when I was first looking at the two units side by side, I was expecting to see different numbers, not noticing the MQA symbol on one.

It is an very tight fit when I plug in my IEM's 3.5mm plug into my BTR5 2021. It seems too tight and I am concerned about wear and tear on the plug. Anyone else have this issue?

Hmm, no response here.
Does anyone know if there is a thread dedicated to the btr-5 2021?

The same on the BTR5.
No issues so far and it gets better over time. :)

I wonder if 3.5mm plugs into ALL btr5 2021are too tight? Or are ours an anomaly?

Guess all BTR5s share this tight fit of the 3.5 socket.

.Will it be able to drive the hd 600? I have the btr1 model and unfortunately it sounds very quiet even at maximum volume
I use original BTR5 with Drop HD6XX with balanced cable and it's good.

It will.
Listening with single ended to my Verite Open right now and 45 out of 60 is enough for me.

VO = 300 Ohm / 97db , equal to HD600.

For more "headroom", you've to go balanced, as vmiquel said.

Well, the Mojo bring it to another level, but it's a different dacs with nearly 9 times the power of the BTR5 single ended and with a different sound signature.

My experience also. But Mojo is also a different price...

Indeed.
And lacks LDAC. ^^

But hey, it's worth it twice, imo. :)

Different horses for different courses.
