The FH5s (non pro) sounds great and that is coming from kilo buck IEM's. Using JVC spiral dots and using 1st bass switch up. I think the larger dynamic likes a bit of power on it, using medium gain on a Topping A30 pro. EDM the bass really shines but generally on non EDM isn't overly boomy. It has impact, a lot of presence and texture. Everything sounds crisp and excellent sound stage or a sense of space.
That crispness might initially throw you off on some tracks but once your brain burns in something like Fleetwood Mac The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac in FLAC sounds so good. Honestly I am not sure about the reviews these have got, perhaps it's preference?
I might do a full review. I would be interested to know the difference in how the new cable sounds.
@FiiO, can you confirm color of the FH5s Pro? I'm confused because your website says the Pro is silver, but Aliexpress (and Amazon) show it in black. It doesn't appear that a buyer has the option to choose the color as they do in the non-pro version.

Thanks for confirming, I figured that was likely the case. I think they look great in both color schemes but I would slightly prefer them in silver. At any rate, I have a set of Pros on they way.
I have had my FH5s Pros since last Saturday and I am extremely happy with their sound. It took a month and three attempts to find a new IEM that pleases my ears, first was the Moondrop Aria and second was the FiiO FD3 Pro. Neither did it for me. I'm not big on writing reviews but I'll add more thoughts on the FH5s Pro sometime soon.
For now I need some assistance in choosing some silicone tips for them. I tried all the stock tips that came with them and I prefer the sound and fit with the pre-installed balanced tips by a mile. I tried all the sizes and as usual the medium size gives me the best seal. However I would like to find some silicone tips that allow further penetration into my ear canals but will not change the sound much (preferably not at all). I also find the FiiO tips sometimes get a little itchy and would like to eliminate that as well.
I was looking at the Spinfit CP100 & 145 on Amazon and it appears they are both around 1mm longer but I'm not sure that would make much difference? Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated. I strongly prefer suggestions that I can purchase on Amazon.

I must admit, I've only really had a handful of IEMs where I'd say the burn in process made a noticeable difference to them, but I swear the FH3 became smoother and less bright over time and the soundstage opened up. It was definitely within my head but now audibly wider and sits just outside. A very enjoyable earphone and its a real shame the cable was such poor quality and broke so quickly... In multiple places.
I'd recommend it to anyone after a fun, musical earphone with very decent levels of detail. Treble every now and then could be clearer - perhaps hidden by the bass depth - but bass (especially) and mids are way above any other earphone I have under 200 pounds. A Sabre DAC pairs well as do neutral or brighter amps. Thicker sounding amps can put too much emphasis on the low end and I think this might be why some people think it's muddy or overly thick or lacking in mids.

Agree with your words, and should say best cure for thickness or overall too much bass quantity is some wide bore tips like azla sedna or spiral dots or other similar. Then tuning of fh3 becomes more balanced overall and treble becomes clearer, bass lower but tighter. So FH3 steps one level above. Fh3 at their price is still between the best.
I'm using the FH3 for four months now. Love the subbass and the highs on these. It does sound incoherent occasionally with some tracks, and the cable is too heavy- except this it's a no brainer for $150.
Hi folks! I have around 125-130$ budget and this fits just about right in that price point but I have a couple of questions. For mobile use, I own Momentum TWS2 and it's great. Since I hate headphones, for gaming and movie watching purposes I use a cheap but decent Philips PRO6305 + Fiio BTR3K. I want to get relatively premium-ish earphones that BTR3K can handle. I'm not a bass freak but I do like a bit of punchy bass since these will not be used mainly for music do you guys recommend FiiO FH3 for this type of use scenario?
My FH3 has been all rounder every day, I love his tone. I want to find out what my next upgrade steps should be from there. Which ones do you indicate?
This is a thread to discuss about the brand new FiiO FH9.
Their flagship of the hybrid FH line.
It features 1 Dynamic 13.6mm DLC bass driver and 6 Balanced armature drivers.
It comes with interchangeable filters and pure silver cable.
