I had audio cutting out issue with slightest neck movement, turned out that the cable that came with FH7 was bad(had loose connection). I swapped it with another cable and it is working fine since.
i really like the cables, but pretty bummed that faulty cables came with my fh7 smh

That is certainly a bummer. I had a similar issue with my Q5. The connecting cable was faulty and would cut out all the time. I got it replaced but is still not the best first impression.

So my Fearless S8F came in today. I have to say that my perspective for judging the FH7 had maybe not been appropriate. Leading up to the FH7 I had most recently been listening to the IT04, Westone UM Pro 50, KZ ZS10 Pro, and Sony EX800st. Apparently that is not exactly a clean pallet for introducing the FH7. Listening to the same test tracks with the S8F was a revelation. The FH7 is more of a bass monster than I realized. By comparison, the S8F is a well separated, detail beast with a clean sound. It reminds me of the first time I heard the Sennheiser HD600 or maybe the Oppo PM-3. Switching back to the FH7 is like switching back to my Argon MK3. This is a very early comparison but I'm extremely pleased with both sets right now. (S8F seems to benefit from silicon tips vs my preference for Symbio tips on the FH7.)

On my rig - it doesn't make a measurable difference, and I can't hear a difference either. For instance, you'll get bigger change in frequency by pushing it deeper in your ear, using different tips, or changing the angle of insertion. The last thing I'd be messing with is removing the screen. If you want clearer sound - use the green filter.
The funny thing, Paul, I didn't even realize FH7 had filters, until I was just reading/posting Erik's review on my site. And while reading it, was also a bit surprised that "green" refers to High Boost while according to Erik (@Wyville) the treble doesn't get harsh and instead improves its quality. Got me curious, actually.

But either way, I know his review will be posted on Head-fi soon, but in a meantime, I just published it here, covering both FH7 and their latest LC-2.5D cable.

Did you find that FH7 appears to be smoother at the high end than S8F? It is to me when I compare to S8P.

Upon first impression I did not but I'm using the bass filters, so that might need switched up, and I need to do a lot more listening. I'll try to come up with some tracks to look for it specifically!

The subbass on the FH7 is pretty amazing. Really amazing. Huge rumble and low end fullness. Like a subwoofer.
Agree. When I test FH7 for sub bass track, wow, it like a mini-subwoofer!

Hi,

I'm between FH7, it04 and Polaris v2. I was almost convinced to buy the FH7 but now I'm worried about the treble..

I mostly listen to prog rock & metal. Now I own an rha t20 and I'm quite happy. Any advise?

Thanks a lot!

I've almost finished my FH7 review video. Just got to shoot one more part. I'll also have a review of the Polaris V2. That should help.

Has anyone else experienced this? I just started trying to remove my cable and am having the same issue. @FiiO , is there an easier method for removing the cable without the risk of damaging it?
Dear friend,

You may try to hold the plug tightly and don't drag the cable when changing the cable.

Ok, my peddler of audio crack has informed me he's getting the first batch in of FH7's in a few days. I've placed the order :)

Very keen to hear about how they compare to my trusty FH5's which have been my go-to's for the last year, will post some musical comparisons.

I emailed ADV about making custom tips for the FH7, here is their response:

Our 3D specialist team have brought to our attention a couple of concerns in modeling the custom-tips for the Fiio FH7. The design of this IEM doesn't have anchor points. This coupled with their rather deep monitor depth, the custom-tips might have a higher chance of being bulky or being pushed-out.

We can still make the custom-tips for you if you would like, but we would like for you to understand above possibilities as an outcome.

The good news is that the FH7 is very comfortable as is and tip rolling seems to be a simple process for most of us.
