I haven't experienced driver flex in any IEMs since the venerable Shure E2c, though it wasn't as much of an issue with foam tips. I don't recall any "crackling" sounds, but you did feel the air pressure rise in your ear on insertion.

With silicone tips, I recall having to "crack" them a little after insertion by pulling back on my ears, to try to equalize pressure before making the seal. The upside with the non-vented design was excellent isolation.

iBasso IT01's definitely have driver flex when inserting into my ears w/ silicon tips.
