I'm agree with forward mids but FH3 has a clear spike on 8K (wich is identical to FA1 that has a very highlighted treble) so I could say FH3 also has an accent/boost on treble too.
If you are referring to this peak.

It is just a coupler resonance peak.

I played with EQ on my FA1 with the help of this graph you provided:

The 8k peak is exactly what is giving me sibilance on FA1. I reduced it by a notch and it was gone for good, without any detail reduction. FH3 also has exactly that peak (I know it can be less audible due to FH3 having more bass quantity)

Thanks for answering sir :beerchug:
But how can u said that generally similar tuned? Me my self don't have any application nor ability to compare the graph.
At some reviewers said that FH3 kind of V-Shape tuning rather than slightly warm-neutral T2+?

Thanks for the graph!
Just saw this info from KZ's thread that we can compare graph from crinacle.com database.

Well well.. indeed similar tuning beside an added sub-bass shelf vs T2+?
I'm sold.

Sony XBA-N3 sounds like something you want then.
Thanks, found some b-stock here in Germany online for 140€.

But the technicalities are better on the FH3 you would say?

And how could I use an eq to make the FH3 sound a little bit less forward? I have a Qudelix 5K which can handle this pretty good.

Most of the time I listen to Extreme Metal and I like it loud but sometimes it's to much with the FH3.

Yeah, but the soundstage on the N3 is huge and sounds like a 2.1 speaker setup.

If you are referring to the vocals being forward, I don't really know how to fix that with EQ. I find that using eq on mids just sounds horrible.

You could try reducing the treble at 2300hz, 5300hz and 8000hz. With a q value of 2.0-2.5.

Also, buy it asap. That price is a steal (if b stock doesn't mean it is scratched all over by a cat lol).

Thanks. And yeah, I'm not a fan of EQ and to be honest, I like the FH3 how they sound.

If I'm lucky the N3 should arrive on saturday, looking forward to compare them to the FH3.

Enjoy. Worst case, Sony iems keep their value for a very long time. So you will probably be able to sell them at no loss (or actually profit sometimes lol).

FiiO FH3 is an excellent IEM, great sound! Good accessories too! Bass have nice quantity, mids is forward, and treble have great detail and sparkle in the right place. Very good imaging. Soundstage is in layering feeling. No sibilance. Good option to listen some Rock, POP, EDM, Blues, Metal and some Jazztronic too. Great all rounder IEM.

@FiiO Kang

What is the policy on damaged accessories?

The L-bend in the cable came loose and the dealer is insisting that I return the whole unit for a repair or a replacement.

Why can't I return just the cable alone?

I even bought another cable and a cheap MMCX IEM just for the cable as a spare, and now that expenditure is going to waste because they insist on having the whole unit back and they don't even have it in stock.

Anxiously waiting for my FH3s to arrive from Amazon after being away from the scene for a while now. Super excited. I'm now looking into DAC/amps and the BTR5 and BTR3K have caught my eye. Any other recommendations for $100 and under? I'm still pretty new to all of this. Also looking at the Tripowin Zowie for a 2.5mm MMCX balanced cable since it's also on Amazon and easy to get (I also have some Amazon gift cards to use up). Thoughts?

Dragonfly Black is also an option at $100
If you're going with a balanced cable I highly recommend to consider iFi Hip DAC at $150

How can it happen to such a rigid cable like that?
I once tried to loosen that part with plier just for my curiosity, it ended up scratch those gold plated and won't open. 😅
