Maybe there could be a Pro version with metal housing?
How does FH1 compare agaisnt EX1 v2? Would it be an upgrade? I would expect something that doesn't have worse soundstage & separation. Looking just at freq graph EX1 seems to have more linear response over FH1.
IMO, the FH1 is an upgrade in every way over the EX1 v2. It has much better dynamic range, a better soundstage with fantastic separation, and is more comfortable. And I say this as someone who really likes the EX1 v2, it's one of my favorite daily IEMs. But the FH1 is a considerable step up, and a great value for the money.
How is the build quality according to everyone?
Nicely build but don't forget it is made out of plastic. Some people also complained there that their unit has some issues regarding , loose cable and popping nozzle.
I ask because i read that some people are having issues with the mmcx port on the unit and also someone had one of their nozzles come out. Not very comforting.
I have read some FH1/F9 (PRO) reviews on amazon and now I am not confident with quality of new FIIO models - particularly mmcx connectors. Some reviewers mentioned that connectors are loose causing signal dropouts or too tight which makes changing cables hard so you need to use force and therefore a chance of damaging it.
I have changed tips twice and have switched cables a few times, and (knock on wood) haven't had any problems. Mine are the blue ones, so probably not the first units off the line since they weren't available until well after the black version was released.
I had trouble with the nozzle. It was the black one's but for the sake of the sound I m willing to try another one ( maybe a blue one that came out after)
I've just published the FH1 review on HFN: https://www.headfonia.com/review-fiio-fh1/
When plugging or unplugging the unit, the earphone unit and cable should be kept in line when operating. Better operation may also help with avoiding the problem. We would also report to the engineers about that and pay more attention of this issue.
Thanks for the feedback.
Same. I'm on a second pair and they haven't broken yet. I've noticed some residue on the nozzle close to where the nozzle connects to the housing. I fear this might be whatever adhesive is holding the nozzle in place and that it may have shifted out of the housing a bit.
I hope that this pair holds up and that other batches have top-notch build quality. These are wonderful sounding IEMs, but that doesn't mean much if they don't hold up for long.
Sorry for bringing inconvenience to you. Hope the issue should never happen again.
Same residue on the nozzle in my unit also. May be they come out soon.
I see that the blue and green versions are available on Amazon US, or will be in stock in two days
I see that the blue and green versions will be in stock at Amazon US in two days. Are these part of the later batch?
