Not directly related to the F9, but what is the material used in the RC-MMCX2S cable? Is it OFC? Also are the connectors gold-plated?

It is OFC. and the connectors are gold-plated.

Thanks.
What are the specifications of the bt cable at the picture? Is it the BTR3?

it is not BTR3, it is just a bluetooth cable for mmcx IEMs. Detail spec. will be released in the future but there are not big different with other bluetooth used CSR8645.

Also - do you know the definition of stupidity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
It could also be the definition of perseverance. Anyway, I don't get the point of calling the FIIO F9 (1st batch) a beta-item. Really there are so many examples of n-th revision of much more expensive products and from way, way more consecrated brands of like 80+ yo old and pioneers of their business that release products that seem closer to alpha than beta items, let alone finished products, that I really don't get the point of calling the F9 a testing model with huge design flaws. Asking for a refund for feeling yourself a "beta-tester" of the named product feels a bit childish, if not completely absurd. I much prefer this business model than not listening to the buyers at all or responding to buyer's opinions in a matter of years/decades. Some people gotta be mentally impaired. Like really hard. I empathize with you, Brooko.
Just my point.

This is what I posted last week when I thought I would get a "first batch" F9.

"I mean don't get me wrong, it kinda bugs me too, to buy something then find out a better version is coming out(looking at you, Nintendo). But in this case it's just minor engineering improvements most people aren't even going to be aware of being implemented in the first place.

Unless they sound better...(just bought my F9 this morning)"

Anywho... Really enjoying my F9. Not having treble issues either. Granted, been using foam tips the whole time. Not sure where I got these but they could prove useful to anyone who's especially treble sensitive.

Not only are they foam but they have a wax guard or something in there. I think maybe they came with my old Flare R2. Not currently rocking those tips, just an FYI.

“Could pulling the cable break the termination? Should not be break easily. But remember pulling the port instead of the cable.”

That’s exactly what I did.Tried to replace tha SE cable and no more sound from the right earphone.
So sad about that.
Received them two weeks ago from amazon.uk.
No regrets about getting these,as they sounds amazing.

I dug out all of my earphones again and replaced all of their tips with the ones that I fitted to the F9 and retested them side by side with the F9. Now that they have the correct size tips they all improved in sound quality, however, the F9 still beat them hands down.

You tried replacing the cable on the SE?

You cannot, they are not mmcx they have a fixed cable.

Looks like Comply Foam with the WaxGuard (Tx-200 or similar). I'm using the non-WaxGuard Comfort model (Ts-200), which seemed to take some of the edge off the treble, but still needed additional attenuation around 7 KHz. I was wondering if the wax guard would provide that.

Would you mind sending email to support@fiio.net about that? It is the issue with the unit or the cable? Did you contact your seller about that as well?
Sorry if bringing inconvenience to you.
Best regards

What is the difference between the f9 and f9SE models ,??
The only documented difference is the F9 has detacheable cables and the F9SE has fixed, non rremovable cables. Everything else is supposedly the same.
