I'm surprised by how quickly these scratch. I've never had earphones lose their presentation quite so quickly - it's been roughly a month of very careful use, and yet the paint has come off around the edges.

Sorry to hear about that. The f5 's matte black shells are made of galvanized aluminum with clear edges designs, which may lead to the paint off. We are also trying to improve it in later batch.

On the same subject, while the angled connector looks stylish in product imagery, I have to say that for both practical reasons and that of durability, the EX-1 style connectors were a better solution - more comfortable, and less bulky.

Are there any balanced MMCX that have mic and volume control that works with Android/universal? Anyone want to comment how sound stage, and instrument separation compares to the Sennheiser Momentum or CX5.00?

I’ve never seen this. I’d choose either a 3.5mm cable with a mic to focus on talking/conversing on the phone, or a balanced cable to focus on the fidelity of music (paired with a great sounding DAP such as the QP2R/your favorite balanced-capable DAP).
