In its quest to be uncompromising in every aspect, the EM5 does not let you down with its sound quality. The large 14.2mm beryllium-plated diaphragm ensures well-extended, well-textured, and plentiful bass. The lightness and notable rigidity of beryllium also allows the EM5 to present well-extended and detailed treble. Together, the EM5 capitalizes on the strengths of its driver and presents you with an unforgettable bold sound.

Due to their open nature, flat-head earbuds will naturally leak a lot of bass, making your music sound dull. In order to increase bass extension, the EM5 contains a special flute-inspired acoustic bass tube to effectively boost lower frequencies, made possible thanks to advanced 3D printing manufacturing technologies. With the EM5, you will get solid and deep bass that will defy your expectations of what an earbud can do.

Finally we see some innovation from companies. I hope these are better than earbuds where companies just throw together a bunch of third party parts and hope they work together

I am suspecting price would not be anywhere near the VE Monks...
Yeah, I meant I've been meaning to replace my Monks with something more high end and this looks like an excellent option.
If the EM3K is $17, this is most likely around $40 considering the FD1 is $60.

Although fiio is a great brand, $300 seems a bit much considering their earbud making experience. Using a plastic housing and a nice beryllium driver, I'd say $200-250 would have been more reasonable but thats just my opinion. I'm sure it'll sound good though :)

For $40-ish I would probably grab one, just out of curiosity... That is cheap enough for impulse buy

Are you saying FiiO provided info about price target, and it is in the $300 range?! :scream:

They seem quite bulky from outside. We may have problems with the comfort laying on the pillow. Fiio can you expplain a bit more on this? Is hard to tell exactly from the photos.
