Hey, does the fiio E3 distort the sound through an ipod? Im thinking of getting it for the Grado sr80i to power them fully, but i also want to get the best listening experiance i can out of my ipod. Please share your thoughts, thanks

The E3 is a piece of crap.  Unless you are absolutely starving for cash, I'd look elsewhere.

Your getting what you pay for it. Personally, I wouldn't even bother with anything under an E6.

Really not suggest E3, may be u can spend a little more to get a good portable amp.

I have an E3.  I use it solely for boosting the output of my PSP for watching movies on an airplane.  The PSP doesn't ouput loud enough to overcome the volume of the plane's jet engines, so the E3 is just increasing the volume for me.  I tried it with music and it increases the volume but doesn't sound good at all.  It sounds like the amplifier can't handle the peaks so it just gets distorted when the song hits a louder and faster part.  It works great for what I'm using it for, but I honestly wouldn't get one for music.  There are much better portable amps on the market, and if you're powering audiophile quality equipment, using a $5 piece of crap amp is just going to disappoint you.
