FiiO E12A - Balanced or not, and whether or not to pair it with the RC-SE1B?

Hi all,

I've had my E12A a while, paired up with my FiiO X1 (1st gen) and Shure SE425 and I've been thoroughly enjoying the combo. I haven't been looking to upgrade but I was browsing FiiO's site today and found the RC-SE1B, a balanced cable for my SE425. I don't know too much about balanced audio, so I as wondering whether my E12A's output was balanced and what benefits I might get from using the SE1B if it is. Can I use the RC-SE1B with my E12A and find a difference? What could the effects be?

Any comments or explanations would be very much appreciated - if more info is needed, please let me know. Thanks!

you ensure yourself it has equal sound on both drivers i would do it maybe if it was a 4 pin xlr cable because the amp itself does the separation for each driver. unless i can prove the 4 pole connector of the cable on the e12a (i have one right here) i would buy it the difference with 4 pole is it has 2 grounds

It will not work or help. The E12a is not a balanced amp and the termination of the cable is 2.5mm Trrs and the amp is 3.5 mm trs.
