FiiO E10K - How does it sound compared to other DACs/Amps?

The FiiO E10K is the one I currently possess right now. To describe my experience with it, it definitely makes the audio sound a bit more clean and refined, but at the cost of some of the energy. However, the clarity definitely almost makes up for it, and is a great DAC for 75 USD. It sounds like it's uncolored, relative to what I've heard before. It sounds neutral to me, but like a "budget" neutral. As in, it sounds like it's centered and clumped together, while still having clean audio at the same time. Weird to describe, but I enjoy it for the most part.

On the other hand, I have no frame of reference. This is the only DAC/Amp I've ever used that wasn't the on-board of a phone, laptop, PC, or anything like that. The E10K does seem to triumph over all of those with the bass boost off. However, there's a lot of higher-end options out there, like the ODAC/O2, the Schiit stack, and so on and so forth. Some DACs and Amps even go into the thousands, meaning that my E10K is relatively low-end compared to more expensive options out there.

For those of you out there that have both the E10K and some other higher-end option, how does it compare for you with your headphones?

Late reply, but anyways: I have the E10K and the NFB-11. In my opinion, both sound great. That being said, the NFB-11 provides more power for headphones that are harder to drive. In terms of sound quality both sound sufficient, but I would still give the advantage to the NFB-11. Considering the current price of the E10K, it still is a great product nonetheless.

    Cheers
