I hope so, but it seems that FiiO does not know their own product since the answers we're getting about various things are inconsistent. Hopefully as the launch date becomes closer we get more accurate information. I really want a product like this to succeed in the market since the portable CD player space has been devoid of good options for so long. This is not like cassettes where the media is a retro novelty. CDs are still being produced and consumed and as much as it's possible to rip things, sometimes nothing beats just picking out a disc and putting it in.

Our host isn't an engineer and I'm confident was not part of the design or manufacturing teams. Also, English is a 2nd language. Some here are asking very technical questions and @FiiO Wilson has to translate our question and then ask the experts. It must be difficult. I cut him some slack. That's me though, YMMV
That's disappointing. The RioVolt SP250 had 45 seconds of uncompressed ESP in the mid 2000's, I thought the ESP tech of today would have taken steps forward since then, not backwards.

Don't be sorry, you are doing an excellent job
Fiio has earned a lot of respect and interest from me, because of how active you and other Fiio representatives are in this forum. Keep it up!

Thank you for the clarification, however uncompressed ESP is pretty important to me when it comes to using portable CD players.
I would have happily accepted just 30 seconds of ESP if it was uncompressed. I really wanted to get the DM13 due to the wide range of burned-to-disc files it supports, but the ESP on the DM13 using compression really put a damper on that desire.
No matter how many features manufacturers pack into new PCDPs, every single one seems to cheapen out on RAM when all that's needed for 45 second uncompressed ESP is 8 megabytes.

I'm actually very excited about this. I held off on buying the Shanling EC Mini because it doesn't support gapless playback, and didn't take the plunge on the Moondrop Discream because it did not have digital out. Also, thank god i didn't buy the discream, because I heard there were all kinds of issues and moondrop has since stopped production. The DM13 appears to address both issues.
I excidedly opened this article up, hoping for a review. Nope, 1 interesting pic of different colors, but the writer is guessing it's going to sound great. Anyway, if you want to see future plans for colored units you may want to open this link.... https://apple.news/AZQQFd8LoRSqxqartBAzpJA
