I received my review unit and have only had time to listen to one album on it. Initial impressions are very positive so far, though the one thing I noticed is that it does not show up as a CD drive in Windows (maybe a driver is needed?). Excellent build quality, internal DAC sounds great so far.

Did you test it with ESP on? If not, do you mind doing an A/B test switching between off and on to see if you can tell any difference?

Thanks. I just realized that there might be some delay when switching the ESP on while a disc is playing. An easy way to test it might be to record the line out with audacity, first with the ESP on, then with it off.

Now I'm just a little confused. Moondrop claim that both models of the discdream 2 have lossless ESP, which begs the question: how was Moondrop able to find lossless ESP chips and FIIO wasn't? Image is a screenshot from the Discdream 2 store page.

I certainly believe you, you’re not hiding it after all. If the DM13 and the Discdream 2 are using the same chip, would that mean that Moondrop is doing false advertising?

I can't give you these replies.

All I can say is how about our product.

If you are interested, you can do some comparison tests or more comparisons.

I think some of the instructions have to have some basic common sense.

I received mine a few days ago. Its fantastic. It’s not prone to skips in general and I think esp would only be needed in the car or similar bumpy situations. I’ve been using cd players optical out to dac. I’m blown away by how great everything sounds on this player and by how much it is better than high res streaming on Tidal. Very easy to use. I can just put it where I want without a lot of cables or add ons. I love it.
