Thanks for the reply. I never tested the USB DAC connection as this unit will be BT only. However, in the interest of science I tested it and it worked! However, after a few minutes the right channel stops working again. Maybe a bad contact somewhere? I will try some contact cleaner
Dear friend,

Thanks for the kind feedback. If the issue remains, please contact the seller or support@fiio.com for help.

Best regards

I was very happy until yesterday, but today I sold btr3k. My friend said that there is a sound difference between bluetooth and wired mode, after listening in detail, I noticed that it plays more bass when the cable is plugged in. Normally I was using it in ldac mode. Maybe I can switch to a more powerful device, but it was definitely a very good device, very easy to use. I think I regret selling it, the software was also very good. In terms of audio, even in ldac mode, the highs were a bit uneven. It definitely played better with the cable plugged in. I don't know the reason, but the 25 mw it gave out of 3.5 mm was too little for me, I had to install a 2.5 mm cable for 78 mw. Maybe ka 3 will come, I don't know, but btr3k seems to remain one of my favorite devices, I have had 10 dac experiences, but I have not come across one that is as simple to use as btr3k. I wish I hadn't sold.

Questionnaire About Upgrading the BTR3K
The BTR series has always been one of our hot-selling product lines, which can be seen from the iterations from BTR1 to BTR7. Now, we are intending to further upgrade the BTR3K, and the price is expected to be close to the BTR3K’s. Here, we would like to invite you to fill in the questionnaire below.

I'd like to encourage every BTR3K lover to participate in this survey.
It's an amazing device, with natural sound (makes BTR5 and Q5K sound clinical) and plenty of power for most IEMs/Headphones, especially on the balanced output.
My only complaint is the battery life - when I test it, I usually get ~10 hours, but in real world use top out at 7.

I just hope they'll keep using dual AK4377A, and not switch to Sabre's ES9219 family.
While I love Sabre's DACs, the ones with built-in amplifiers (e.g. ES9219C) don't sound as good as the others.

i thought only I was thinking about this thing. I've had a handful of amps and my favorite has always been the btr3k, my only complaint is that it sounds better in wired mode. I've just ordered one btr5k, for me it has no pros other than more power. I agree with you about the chip, ak4377 was my favourite. I have chips like es 9270, es 9038q2m, 43131, 31993, 9218p (I didn't listen to it, it's in the cargo) and I don't like the warm sound of es. my favorite sound is the sound of btr3k, so if a btr3k that sounds around 75 mw from 3.5 mm comes, I can definitely evaluate it. I don't even think about btr5k, I switch to btr3k again.

Recently I have put my first BTR3K through a washing cycle. So I put it in rice to dry, and opened another BTR3K (I own three of them).
This newer BTR3K is running the same firmware v1.3, but it shows a strange behavior that I didn't experience before.

When I use BTR3K as a wired DAC with my laptop, it doesn't sound as good as the old one. It is a lot quieter at the same volume, and music is not as dynamic as I'm used to.
So I thought that maybe it was set to "Low Power" in "DAC Work mode", but it wasn't:

However, when I changed to "Low Power", the volume became much higher, and became as dynamic as I remember it.
Changing back to "High Performance" didn't change anything, the volume remained high.

This behavior keeps happening every day, 100% sure it didn't happen with the original BTR3K.

@FiiO - Is this a known issue? Can we hope for more firmware updates for BTR3K, or is it done?

Dear friend,

We did not heard about this feedback from other user. Did you set the DAC work mode to lower power in your first BTR3K but you did not remember it?
And we could not promise when will the new firmware for BTR3K be released currently.

Best regards

Old BTR3K was set to "High Performance" as well.
Why would the new BTR3K need this setting to be reset on a daily basis? The app keeps showing "High Performance", but I still need to switch it to "Low Performance" to get the high gain. It's weird that once I do that, both "High Performance" and "Low Performance" sound the same.
I always leave it on "High Performance" just in case.

There is any way to buy the battery from this device for maintenance? Had mine for about two years and the capacity has diminished substantially.
I don't think FiiO will ship LiPo battery to you. so...
Find the battery from your local shop instead

Make sure the spec is
3.7v and the size is 621733
6.2mm x 17mm x 33mm
These are in T x W x L (Thickness x Width x Length) form

in my case, I can not find the exact size, nearest I can find is 701435 which is too thick to close the back glass lol
