Any more details on the parametric EQ for the BTR17? I'm hoping I can finally replace my aging Qudelix 5k
10 user profiles to choose from. 10 filter bands for each profile. There’s a selection of peak filter, low shelf, and high shelf. max and min gain of [12dB, -12dB], q value range from 0.25 to 8. It’s pretty easy to select different user profiles on the Btr17 itself using the volume wheel.

those who have btr7 , after trying both for several months, would you stay with btr17 only, or say it's just 5-10% improvement and could have held off pulling the trigger on buying it?

Just received mine from a local shop after they got stock just last minute before I clicked buy on Aliexpress. I’m loving the design and the UI but perhaps not the build quality compared to BTR15.
Why? Cause you are missing the glass?

I replaced my 5K with the BTR17. you can modify the PEQ both through the web (on USB) and the FiiO Control app. There’s a few user slots as well as out of the box curves. It’s clunky and slow to edit compared to the 5K, but seems to work.
Do you feel it lowers the SQ using the EQ? Because I had the impression with older Fiio offerings...

Hard to say, but I don’t think so. If there’s slightly higher noise it’s worth it for being able to deal with quirks of IEMs/tweaking the sound for my enjoyment.

I think the improvement from BTR15/earlier devices is strong enough to enjoy the 17 with eq.

BTR15 felt like a solid slab of glass and aluminium, similar to modern smartphones in terms of solidity. BTR17 has some hollowness to it, especially obvious if you tap on the textured backplate. The wheel and switches are slightly wobbly which adds to that feel.

All that said, pretty sure my BTR15 will from now on be collecting dust.
