FYI... I had to do Factory Reset 4 Times with my BTR17... So might be worth trying the Factory reset a few times....

- Had distortion on all Bluetooth Codecs of of the box. Though the Wired sound through usb was very good.

- 1st Reset made it worse. Really unusable bluetooth.

- 2nd Reset gave the same unusable bluetooth sound quality as 1st reset...

- 3rd Reset would show LDAC (Or AAC, Aptx..) Connection on phone and device; But NO Sound at all from the BTR17.

- 4th Reset was the charm... LDAC Sound is clear and clean just like being wired.

- All I can say is that it now works great. ( But I won't do another reset because who knows what may happen. LOL )

J'aiI have a bug with the battery gauge. Fiio btr17 fully recharged then a complete discharge in order to calibrate the battery as is customary with a new device. So I fully recharge And when I turn on my btr17 I have a gauge at 0%. The device has been working for 20 minutes with that.The software is really not up to par...

I hope they release a new firmware soon, I'm also trapped in the factory-reset dance with the BTR17 so most of the time I go back to my "old" BTR15

don't worry, it will soon go back to crap-BT mode without the need of a factory reset. disconnecting or powering it off is enough in my case.

For me the Sound quality seems to be good, without distortion after turning the BTR17 off/on several times. But when it reconnects after being off, the "best sound" Codec reverts to APTX-HD. To get it back into LDAC, I need to (On my phone) switch to "most stable" connection, which gives me AAC, then switch to "Best Quality" and LDAC will come back. SEE REVISED NOTE AT END, DISTORTION ON BLUETOOTH IS BACK!

If I leave the BTR17 Powered ON, but turn off the phone's Bluetooth, and reconnect it, the BTR17 will reconnect with LDAC. Tried this several times. (Not that this is so useful, as I plan to turn off the BTR17 when not using it.

And would not normally turn off the phone's Bluetooth while the BTR17 is still powered. I was just curious if it would reconnect in LDAC (my phone's best quality codec).
- Just to "prove" that the glitch (for my BTR17) seems to be that it forgets, or cannot recognize LDAC as my phone's "Best Quality" Codec when the BTR17's is powered off then turned on again.

If FIIO is watching, here is some more "firmware troubleshooting" info:
- My phone is a older one. LG-G6 and still on Android 9.
- Was using USB Audio Player Pro, and Hiby Audio Player on my phone. Both seem to work fine and don't affect the Bluetooth Choices that the BTR17 makes when re-powered

REVISED to ADD:
- On some further listening, I seem to start picking up some distortion listening via Bluetooth... So that is still a "Distortion glitch" that I am hoping a firmware update will fix... Turned off the Phone's Bluetooth, and reconnected - Distortion remains. Turned off BTR17, and distortion is still there when powered back and re-connected via Bluetooth; Even when I get it back to LDAC. Distortion is not on treble (to my ears), but more in the midrange most notable with vocal harmonies.

It has potential, but I Can't recommend the BTR17 at this time.

There's no button configuration in this firmware.
You can change tracks with the dedicated buttons for now, the volume wheel will only play/pause.

I only done it once but now I have some crackling that wasn't there previously. I wonder if I should factory reset again lol

This device needs a new bugfix firmware yesterday

The options in FiiO Control for this device are quite limited, but I'm confident that will change on a future update

I just randomly checked the FiiO control app and I got a firmware update notice for 0.51. I cannot find any release notes though and didn’t see any in this thread. Anyone have luck? I checked the website too and no luck.

Là My battery indicator still at 0% after a little over 2 hours of listening in ldac. I have distortion too, it's very low but it can be heard with the music off. Still in bluetooth these observations.I will check if this happens in USB mode
