I noticed that the OPA2134 included with the FiiO A1 is not soldered into place and can be replaced.  Has anyone made an opamp rolling attempt with this amp?  I'm curious to see what a MUSES01 or MUSES02 can do for this little beast.

There it is.
Muses? LOL
My first choices would be OPA209/2209, TL5580, OPA1641/1642, OPA602B, OPA1652, OPA827, or AD8397.  These usually behave well and sound great in a circuit built for a low-speed opamp like 2134.  5580 will probably be the best-sounding one.

Thanks, I am aware the the unit has a removable 8-pin socket, I just didn't want to cause harm to the opamp or the amp by installing something else.

Why "Muses? LOL."

I really like the MUSES line in my opinion.  Is it not well suited for such a design?

Either way, thanks for the input.

So has anyone tried swapping opamps yet?

I got an a1 a few weeks ago and have been thinking about cracking it open. I didn't see a socket for the opamp though. Is it just seated in the pcb unsoldered?
