FIIO 2025 New Product Schedule-From FIIO James

When are we going to get the Android update for M23 promised some year ago ?
Given the ZERO response on this subject, the narrative on the current state of the DAP market from Fiio and their pivot to a new chipset for the future line-up, I think the odds of seeing an Android update for ANY of the older models is probably 1:10000. I would love to be wrong but I doubt it. Fiio made the comment previously that getting a newer version of Android to work was proving to be "very difficult" and I would guess that the investment in technical resources to solve the problem was better used to develop and release new products instead.

My viewpoint going forward is that the Android version delivered from Fiio on ANY new device is the de-facto end state version for that device. Doubt that Fiio (or most other manufacturers) see any value in prolonging the life of their older players when they can just sell a new one...

Sure, I understand, this way it's more profitable for them. Nonetheless the future update was a part of the product I paid for and this value was not delivered.

Dear friend
FIIO 2025 New Product Schedule
Is your business based on lies, fraud and bull? Why should I buy anything new from you? Will you give me my money back? Would you mind responding my question?

Getting a newer version of Android to work was proving to be "very difficult".
Then why is it other manufacturers can get it to work? Maybe FiiO should employ better software engineers before their reputation is completely ruined.

speak for yourself...Class A is definitely better than D. Lotta us dont care about the energy because for that matter. I wouldnt run any HIFI in the house at all if I was on that and Class A always sounds different to Class D.
You're not hearing any difference between a well done class D or a class A. Do some level matched, multiple trial, blind listening tests where out of 10 trials you can tell the difference 9 times.

I have no doubt that you hear a difference 100% of the time when you know what amp is playing. No doubt at all.

You also need to be sure that you have heard a well done class D not a really inexpensive design. They don't have to cost mega bucks, but class D has really improved these last few years.

⑥ Portable USB Dongles

Portable USB dongles have now become one of the most frequently used audio devices among headphone audiophiles. By eliminating costly components such as main controllers, displays, and batteries, they offer high cost-performance value. While dangling from a phone may be slightly inconvenient, their streaming experience far surpasses that of Android-based music players.

With many solution providers and OEMs in the market, the portable USB dongle sector is crowded with brands and models, making innovation in design and functionality quite challenging.

Fortunately, thanks to FIIO’s strong independent R&D capabilities and 18 years of experience in the portable HiFi field, we have firmly established a foothold in the USB dongle market, launching phenomenal products like the KA17.

In 2025, FIIO will introduce major new developments. We plan to categorize our USB dongles into three series: JadeAudio (KA Series) targeting the below hundreds USD market, FIIO (QX Series) targeting above hundreds USD market, and SNOWSKY focusing on beauty and personalization.

Here are some key upcoming products.

1. QX11 – FIIO’s First Portable USB dongle
In addition to FIIO’s patented desktop mode and external capsule battery, the QX11 will also feature a magnetic attachment for easier phone integration.

The QX11 is expected to launch in November, priced at around 150 USD.

2. QX13 – New Flagship USB dongle
Featuring a new DAC architecture, the QX13 will introduce a significant upgrade in user experience, with a never-before-seen design in the dongle market. Additionally, it will incorporate innovative casing materials to address common usability issues.

The QX13 is expected to launch in June, priced at around 300 USD.

3. KA15R2R – FIIO’s First R2R USB dongle
Designed for R2R’s warm and rich analog sound, the KA15 R2R caters to those who appreciate this distinctive audio signature. Although some R2R dongles exist in the market, they are rare and generally very expensive. FIIO has always aimed to make high-end technology accessible, so the pricing will be well-controlled. It will be more expensive than the KA15 but still reasonably priced.

The KA15 R2R is expected to launch in October.

Under the SNOWSKY brand, we have planned three models.

4. Memory Nano, Ultra-Compact and Affordable
Designed for ultra-compact size and exceptional cost-performance value, it’s the ideal choice for casual audiophiles, and is expected to launch in May.

5. Memory, Family Crescent Moon Design with Real Wood
Featuring a family-style crescent moon design, the Memory may be the first-ever USB dongle to use real wood, delivering outstanding aesthetics. It is expected to launch in May.

6. Memory Pro – Enhanced Circuitry for Superior Sound
Sharing the same exterior design as the Memory, the Memory Pro boasts enhanced internal circuitry, offering higher-tier sound performance. It is expected to launch in July.

The attached image shows the renderings of Memory and Memory Pro.

Some regular updates and model refreshes are not detailed here. Additionally, we have a patented innovative USB dongle in development, but due to technical uncertainties, it is not included in this preview. Whether it will reach the market will depend on product maturity and meeting our quality standards.

@FiiO do you have any plan to release a DAP for around $200 this year? Thanks
1. M21
The M21 made its first public appearance at the recent Shanghai Headphone Expo. It features the Snapdragon 680 chipset, a new quad-ES43918 matrix DAC, desktop mode, and a high-power headphone amplifier. Additionally, we designed a retro-style cassette tape protective case for it.

This design has received widespread acclaim from audiophiles. The M21 is expected to launch in April at a highly competitive price, similar to the JM21.

Hopefully Fiio is able to figure out a volume adjustment that doesn't require muting the output for a split second like Cayin's RU6 but as long as it isn't as unusable as the volume wheel on the Heartfield R1 then I think most people will live with a similar volume ladder especially if it's cheaper or more powerful than the RU6. But I would definitely wait until there are reviews of the KA15 R2R before buying to make sure that it doesn't have an issue with its volume controller since that seems to be a difficult problem to solve for R2R dongle DACs.

How do your diy flatheads sound?

They already did with the K11 R2R. Volume changing was pretty smooth without any discontinuities. My only caveat was the tactility of the knob itself.

Unless the form factor is playing a key role in this issue. We'll see.

Zippo lighters form factor. Nicotine vibes.

How do your diy flatheads sound?
The Starling which uses a 32 ohm graphene driver is the one I've spent the most time on, it's got a slightly bright V-shaped sound signature with decent bass (for a flathead) and incredible treble but slightly scooped mids. The 400 graphene is much more balanced but vocals aren't as clear or crisp as the Starling though I haven't spent a lot of time tuning it, it's the next driver I want to spend a bunch of time with after I finish the Starling. mt877's Artiste Nightingale is a mids-focused bud that is called the "Chaconne killer" in the flathead community which is pretty impressive for a $30-40 earbud considering the Moondrop Chaconne costs ~ $330. He also has a lot of other builds that are listed in this post. And the 130 beryl is a very bassy driver but I haven't spent a lot of time tuning it as it doesn't have as good of vocals as any of the graphene drivers do. If you're interested in a build with the 130 beryl driver the DIY Earbuds thread would be the place to go as a lot of people have built great sets with that driver.

Yep I've been very happy with the K11 R2R but that's a desktop device where space and power aren't at a premium; Cayin ran into this issue with the RU6 where their volume controller from their prior R2R designs was using too much power and space for a dongle. That's why they have the nine segment volume ladder with RU6 as it was the best compromise that didn't eat battery or take up a ton of space and that design was further improved with the RU7 which only has a three segment ladder. Hopefully Fiio can use a similar system or use another method altogether so there's no downsides with their design.
