I wouldn't bother if you're getting the SRH440. It beats the HD 280 at its own game, except for isolation.

oh ok, good =D.

i'm also gonna go ahead and scratch the V6 from the list. i've already gone far out of my budget to even consider the shures, i dont think i can handle another 35$ if i want to get a pair by this weekend =(. but from what i've heard about the shures, they should be just fine anyway.

thanks for the help.

are they better than the K81s?

It is in my book, although obviously less portable. The K81 is a very bassy headphone, and I found it overly dark and highly uncomfortable. But the SRH440 is also a better headphone than the dt 235 in my opinion. beyerdynamic's competition for the SRH440 is probably the DT440, which I like better than the Shure, but it is open, and hardly portable at all, although I do walk around my house with it plugged into my ipod and it sounds great. Hadn't you settled on the SRH440? That sounded like a great choice.

haha i usually research all the possible options in the universe before buying anything over 50$. just my way of not getting screwed over a month later when i learn a new, similarly priced and superior product has just come out.

come to think of it, wouldn't it be better for me to wait until after the CES 2010 products are released? all the new and more advanced stuff should leave companies dropping the stuff that they currently have listed for 150+ down to 100>

or is that not how it works in this market?

Really? The K81 is very comfortable.

I might try the HD25 velour pads... but when the pleather is broken in, I can wear them for hours.

It's different for everyone. Have you removed the foam pad inside the pleather pad? Also, you can use blu-tak to make the bass tighter.

Notice I said I found it very uncomfortable, whereas you said it is very comfortable. But it is true that the sound was so unappealing to me that I never got the pads to the broken in stage, nor considered modding it.

i also in the same situation as stonyboys , its really hard to find good price on headphone in Canada.

If you want to try out the SRH440 just go buy it @ futureshop and audition it and return it.

Where do you live?! I was referring to Headroom, which sells it for $49. Great company.

$10 standard US shipping, and call headroom for the international shipping.

EDIT: Oh, and, the HD201<DT 235.
