There's a few different types of A83 out there @harry501501 ... with mine, for instance, I never managed to use any other MMCX cable than its own (and yeah, I tried - wanted to see how they were balanced, never managed:)). So, if I were you, I'd either ask the seller to try with some other mmcx cable and assure you that it does work with them (and trust him and/or spell out what happens if he should be wrong, once you've trusted him), or I'd skip the deal, tbh.

@harry501501 see here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fid...scussion-thread.725161/page-137#post-11776692 that's a pic of the cable which came with my A83, and the only one that does fit IT. At that time, with the help of other people here,I think that we managed to establish that there were 3 different iterations of the A83, and while some did accept normal MMCX cables, the latest one at that time (mine :)), did not.

Edited to add: and see here : https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fid...scussion-thread.725161/page-156#post-11863559

Is anyone still listening to their A83's? I broke mine out after being packed away for a year or so. Took a couple days to get used to the nearly over the top detail and in the end had to drop 8k by 7db. But definitely a refreshing break from all the harmon iems
