1. Most of these higher end headphones will have decent warmth!
2. As far as soundstage, if it fits your lifestyle, I'd go with open back.
3. IMHO comfort should be a factor because music is so different when the headphones just disappear :) I haven't tried all of them, but you won't go wrong with the 600/650 at all!

You came close to the right answer with your HD600/650 thoughts but you stopped a little short, the HD700 does everything you want and is incredibly comfortable as well.

Oops! Well thanks for correcting me! I was just choosing out of the options he gave me, I in fact looked up the 700s right after I read the original post :p

You have some very different sounding headphones in your title. Of those, I would probably pick the Sennheiser HD600 or HD650, or perhaps the Philips X2. But that's because I like more warmth and some bass, and I do not like brighter headphones.

This covers most if not all of them:

I'd say HD600. Better than X2 and HD650 imho. And also I prefer them by far to HD800s.

Lol, indeed you did. Same question applies though. Why do you think it's better?

First of all, X2 is more v shaped while HD600 while retaining a good bass impact is a lot more neutral. Second, HD600 has better vocals, they have more realism, third highs on HD600 are smoother and more extended. On X2 they are a little peaky and artificial sometimes. And HD600 is a little more comfortable. X2 has a more tridimensional soundstage though.

I found the same results for the X1. I did not care for the wider soundstage than the HD600, as the treble was a little grainy and sort of artificial, like the Q701. I heard both at the same event, where Tyll himself was less than 100 yards away from me. Come to think of it, he was doing an interview with someone from Mood Audio and recording it at one point. :)
