Fender IEM (Aurisonics) Impressions, Reviews & Discussions Thread

Hey guys,

I've been in the market to retire my w4's for a while now and keep looking at As, first the 1.5+ and now possibly the kicker or harmony.
I still love my w4 but find them lacking in Bass a fair bit. The idea of a basshead iem appeals to me but seeing as I've never owned one it's a worry that the emphasis on bass will wear thin fairly quickly.
This is where the harmony comes in, by the sounds of it it's a great all around iem with some extra bass, but would the increase in bass be noticeable?

Trying to find a replacement for my w4 has been such a hard task, no matter what I can't seem to find something that trumps it. Hasn't technology improved all that much since its release?

W4 is the opposite of Basshead or bass.

Exactly which is why I'm looking for something with more bass - I posted it from mobile and my phone was being a pain hence the confusing sentence structure, apologies.

I like the idea of bass, and to a smaller extent would call myself the occasional basshead - when the right music is playing, but overall I value clear smooth mids and highs over excessive bass, which is wear the fear of dropping $300+ comes from on iem that I may tire of quickly.
Originally the Kicker stood out to me for it's increase in bass without convoluting the mids and highs, but the more I read the more I started edging towards the harmony, which sounds like an extremely fun sounding iem with plenty of bass to boot.

Edit: my music preference is all over the place ranging from classic to hiphop to electronic, the W4 especially disappoints in the last two categories.
I'm well aware that there no IEM that does it all perfectly (at least not in my price range).
They'll mostly be used on my daily commute where they're paired with my phone.

Bass with silky mids and detailed treble but not extended treble (not sharp) = Forte. Bass with silky mids with detailed extended treble = Harmony.

Is that really the only difference between the Forte and Harmony?

I guess the treble range of the W4 edges more towards the Forte? They by no means sparkle, I'd even go as far as saying as sometimes they tend to sound a bit muffled.
Do you still find the Harmony fun and easy to listen to for long periods of time?

Forte and Harmony easily are more fun and more alive than the W4. Both the Forte and Harmony has the same bass driver which will pound the bass and it goes very deep. Much more than the W4. Both the Forte and Harmony has a BA driver for the mids but the Harmony has one more BA driver for the extended treble. The Harmony due to its extended treble will sound closer to being balanced while the Forte which still has a clear treble will sound more bassy with mids a bit up front. I enjoy both.

This is actually really helpful. I'm tempted to go for the Forte but might regret it, may as well put in the extra $100 and go for the Harmony

I think you will enjoy either. I bought both. Forte has treble maybe a bit better than W4 but the Harmony has the treble of a reference iem. Also both fits great.

If you want something for purely basshead purposes than the kicker and asg 2.5 fits that criteria more. I used to think that the harmony wasn't basshead enough for me, and it still doesn't quite reach the levels of the 2.5, but when the bass is there it let's itself be known. Good, high quality thumping bass. It's just that most of the time the mids and treble cut through with clarity.

It's not as lush as the 2.5 though, and initially I thought it might be a bit too dry for me, but I've come to appreciate its clearer tone. Depends on what you want. It's not a dry sound though, just in comparison to the 2.5.

What you would hear is a better and more refine bass quality. It feels like mini earthquakes in your ears. The bass doesnt overwhelm the other parts of the sound spectrum and is non fatiguing.

Coming from the w4, harmony is warmer, more alive sounding and better all round. I was initially skeptical that Harmony would be too heavy on my head as the W4s were tiny and lighter (I wear glasses too) but it was fine.

Might end up going for the forte the Australian rrp for the harmony is a tad too high for my liking.
I did notice they have the 2.5 on special for $600 down from 1k so that's on the cards as well now.

What tips do you guys use comply 400? I seem to remember reading that the as tips that come with it tend to come off and get stuck in your ear, anyone have any issues with them?
