Just took delivery of the amp today and put it in the rack. The Euroria looks small comparing with my Susvara amp.
It synergizes very well with my VC and Utopia.
However, I have questions...
When I turned off the amp, I can hear loud pop (not excessively loud though) through my headphones. This happened every time I turn the amplifier off even if I lowered the volume to minimum. Is this harmful to the headphones and what caused the noise? It is current spike that can damage headphones?
I prefer to leave the headphones connected with the amp all the time, and this noise caused me concern. I had this with my first amp (DarkVoice 332 10+ years ago) but with the amp of this price/caliber, I can't imagine why they do not take care of this in the design stage, or I get a lemon? With headphones that is prone to driver failure like the Utopia, I wouldn't wanna leave it on the amp when I turn the amp off.
Is this normal? Does this also happen to you guys?

Felkis himself recommends not plugging in the headphones when switching on the amplifier.
When switching off, you should actually take the headphones out of the amplifier and set the volume to zero before switching it off.
In fact, it is harmful to headphones, I remember the Topping L30 when it was not earthed and later it turned out to be a production error, many people broke their headphones with it.
Apart from that if you are going to buy new tubes it can never be excluded that even new tubes can have defects.
And can also cause short circuits or banging noises.
If you want to protect the socket of the Euforia, use an adapter 6.3 mm in and 6.3 mm out.
That would be the better solution, which I still use today.

Well that sucks but I guess I have to live with this quirk. Have ordered a nice XLR Male > Female adapter from Brise Audio... very expensive but whatever.

By the way, for tubes tube roll possibility seems very wide for this amp. Even after I browsed through several pages out of this 760+ pages thread, I couldn't come to any conclusion on the best tubes to get.
May I trouble you guys to please list our some of "very good/excellent" tubes that come to your mind for me to check?
- Would using adapter for non-native tubes be worth it?
- What are good native/non-native tubes I should consider? I listened mostly to vocal-centric albums, trio jazz, oldies, country (like Alison Krauss).
Now I'm with stock tubes and both amp and tubes have less than 24 hours on them.
I want deeper bass / more open sound stage / I'm fine with treble now.
Headphones are Utopia 2022 and Verite Closed.
Thanks!

To my surprise, ZMF Caldera sounds surprisingly good on Euforia Evo! Until today, I haven't even plugged them into Euforia "because OTLs are not for planars".
Well, while definitely not for Susvara, they can be quite enjoyable with other headphones.
Currently using TungSol 5998 and a new pair of Hitatchi 6SN7GTB from @Renexx

Finally I grabbed a pair of the famous GEC 6AS7G curved for a reasonable price. Date codes indicate a vintage of 1964.
Listening to them today with my pair of GEC AQ2408 1956, a premium quality B65 metal base variant.
Absolute linear frequency response from the B65. The 6AS7G add a little warmth and low-end body to the overall sound. Greatly resolving with big staging. Holy grail sound for holy grail price.
What a great combination for my Verite Open.

Hello Shafat,
I am running a set of Sophia Electric Kt88 power tubes w/ adapters + a set of NOS Sylvania Vt99/6f8g as drivers in my Euforia Evo and i couldnt be happier with the sound. The amp can run these tubes and equivalent with ease. This is why these Feliks audio amps are perfect for tube rolling
Today I got my first pair of Sylvania 6F8Gs (not VT99s) and they sound pretty nice as drivers with Thomson 6080s as power tubes. I see why you like them.
The question I have for you is: are your 6F8Gs also noisy? For me, if the music is off, the background hiss/hum is quite noticeable at lower volume - starting at 20-25%. I listen around 35% so I hear it between tracks and in passages where the volume is low.
If I hold my hand closer to the external wires without touching them, the hum and noise go up. These are the noisiest tubes I have. The 6080s are not the issue here because I have been using them with other tubes and no noise. Can it be the external wire adding to this?
The amplification factor for 6F8Gs is 20 so that does not help, but still, they are noisy.
I got them in their original, half crumbling boxes. Not sure how NOS they really are, but they were not touched for a while and one was really dirty.
Is this something that maybe gets better after burn-in?
Can you please share your thoughts on this?
Thank you. Much appreciated.

I m sorry to hear about your tube noise. My tubes are silent, especially the 6f8g ones. Compared to my 6sn7 variants, the 6f8gs are dead silent. You can try resetting the outside clasps or moving the amp to a new part of the room (just in case there are wireless frequencies crowing your room). Some tubes are are more susceptible to electrical interference.
You can also try cleaning the tube pins with deoxit and give it a shot. If you didnt have these noises before your 6f8g tubes, then it can be safely assume the new tubes are at fault here.

On this I checked with Lukasz and he said it’s fine leaving the headphones on when turning off the amp.Just took delivery of the amp today and put it in the rack. The Euroria looks small comparing with my Susvara amp.

I will let them burn in for a while to see if anything changes. Will report here any findings.
I replaced the 6080's with Gold Lion KT88 to try something similar to your combo. Still on the bright side, but a bit more bass. Sounds very nice, full and open.
I don't have any Sophia Electric or other KT88s to see if that makes a change.
The stock Psvane 6SN7 were also a bit noisy, but not as bad as these. It was starting around 40% volume. The 4xKTs were less noisy but with the amplification factor into one digits, that is to be expected. 6v6s are the best with noise for me.
Moving the amp while using the stock tubes did not help, so I doubt it does anything now.
I did clean everything with Deoxit and Isopropyl 99% - I always do unless I buy new production tubes.
Will see. If these don't get better, maybe I will try to return them and get another pair.
Thank you again for your expertise and advice. It is greatly appreciated.

Thinking of picking up the Euforia Evo (also considering the Woo WA22; I know, not OTL but similarly priced). How is the fail rate of this amp? In other words, how often have folks had something go wrong and had to send it back to Poland from the US? How is that experience?
I have a regular Euforia that I got second hand and had zero issues with it for now. Even tried some crazier tube combos and it just works.Thinking of picking up the Euforia Evo (also considering the Woo WA22; I know, not OTL but similarly priced). How is the fail rate of this amp? What are you planning to run with it? Because I wouldn't recommend it for Susvara and Tungsten. With Utopia I don't have experience unfortunately.

Thanks, that's good to hear! I have a SS amp for my Sus and Tungsten already. I plan to use it for Utopia and I'm thinking of picking up an Atrium, or at the very least, an HD6XX.I have a regular Euforia that I got second hand and had zero issues with it for now. I have Utopia 2022/ VC / HD650 and can confirm that Euforia pairs great with these. Especially the HD650. I couldn’t believe this cheap-ish headphone can scale to this degree with better chain. Thanks, that's good to hear! I have a SS amp for my Sus and Tungsten already. Hi guys, just got my Mullard 6080 (Philips rebranded) tubes yesterday and noticed today that both tubes exhibits this green glow around the base of the tube when first powered on. Apart from this the tubes seem to operate fine and sounded good. Is this normal for this tube?
