@warriorpoet
What is the volume difference like on the Roland? e.g. how much more (or less) do you have to turn the Roland up vs. a multi BA iem?
When I auditioned the Valkyrie I had to turn my play up +50% as opposed to my multi BA iem. I would guess the Roland is similar.
I wouldn't say I noticed a significant difference that wasn't seal related in my case. They were louder per volume than my R2s, however.

Oh thanks, I know that it is hard to mess these up since they aren't long.

But it is nice to have confirmation that a company didn't botch it with designs where they are trying too hard.

Members on that thread actually discovered some cheaper cable has unsoldered cores so there's that. Any 16 core cable under $17 is kinda suspicious in my book but doesn't mean they gona sound awful.

My apologies folks, for this delay. I got them Thursday as Linsoul promised but didn't expect it because Linsoul failed to update DHL tracking. So on Wednesday while being under the weather I powered through a workout and guess what? Got more sick.
So, why is that relevant? Because my hearing is affected when I'm sick and it would be wrong to do critical evaluation at that point.
So far I'm impressed with some caveats. This beast is not easy to figure out as it sounds like nothing I've heard before. Good news: Not very source sensitive, Hiby R6 is back in business with 2.5mm balanced.

I agree with WarriorPoet, Roland cable's 3.5mm jack is worse than the one that came with F8p. I thought of replacing it next day, but by that time Burn in and My own hearing change, made stock cable sound too V shaped and after trying thin SPC that sounded somewhat U-shaped and with Sub-bass loss, Thicker SPC was even more V, settled on cable in the picture that delivered surprisingly balanced response bringing back fabulous mids! Yea, $14 cable!

Thnx for the heads up with the cable issue. I'll lower my expectation regarding the quality. I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered. But right now I'm itching to pull the trigger on Cayin n6ii. Any noise issues on the balanced side?

R6 volume low gain:
balanced Roland @ 40
3.5mm Roland @ 46, ier-m9 @ 52
Roland Mids. r fuller than M9, they sound closer to the way they were described for Fiio FH7 (Cannot do my own comparison yet because as of right now my hearing is mostly back and FH7 sounds insufferably bright. Later will try a little)
Mid bass to low mids range is very full bodied spacious “Room filling kind”, sounds very natural presenting in some songs feel of actual studio, I guess. Whether it’s possible, don't know, WorriorPoet may have an answer:).
M9 has considerably less of it.

Treble is the most forgiving of any IEM including se846 & Sony ier-z1r (Sony is a lot brighter. That 100KHz capable 6mm super twitter has massive power advantage over Sonion E-stats.) ier-z1r FR I consider closest to perfection than anything I’ve heard. Miss it. Cannot wait for Sony to release something similar that fits my ears.
Roland even with 2 E-stats (as compared to EE Valkyrie that has only one) still sounds darker than LX and HF instruments and especially brass percussion pushed to the back of the stage often too far for comfort.
The treble on M9 and LX extends much better, there is no way around it. To be fair both M9 is reputed to have unusual treble extension by many audiophiles including, if I remember correctly Toranku, Steph from Major Hi-fi you tube reviews and I don’t disagree. LX also brings shimmering sounds much closer than most.
Roland feels to me like CL2 story all over again, but unlike CL2 it has no glaring flaws and forgiving enough for portable use. Like CL2, Roland has very natural tonality from Low end through lower mids. The high mids and treble feels to me like that magic starting to fade. (I will revise it when I play with EQ to find out what is it that bothers me in upper mids and treble)
