There was going to be a poll here. So much for that idea. Just post your favorite song by the Smashing Pumpkins, i guess. This isn't any good now! I prefer 1979 more than any other song of theirs.

Let me just say that Smashing Pumpkins is my favorite band of all time. I can only limit my favorite songs down to 3. They are Age of Innocence, Tonight, Tonight, and Disarm.

I think Billy Corgan is a genius. His music is beyond words.

Btw, you should change the name of the thread. Instead of SP, put Smashing Pumpkins. It will definitely attract more people.

I don't think i can change the topic now. I think those songs you mentioned are all pretty great, as well. I own all of their main studio albums except for Gish. Don't own any b-side collections or compilations yet.

The albums I have are Siamese Twin, Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, and Machina: Machines of God. However, I have heard every single one of their songs. My favorite album is Machines of God (strangely enough). What is yours?

To be honest, it's hard to pick a favorite, as they all have their respective strengths. I suppose Siamese Dream wins out for me, being their most consistent album and having some completely great guitar riffs. However, I think all their albums are strong. Mellon Collie is a fun listen, their White Album in a way. Lots of different styles. Adore alternates from laid back to more menacing, nice atmospheres. And I think Machina has a somewhat unique sound, a mix of industrial (slight element,) electronic and their older style. I like them all.

Guess I'll go with Disarm, and Bullet with Butterfly Wings close behind. For some reason I've never liked 1979.

For reference, I have Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and Adore.

Either Today (Siamese Twin) or Let me give the world to you (Machina II: Friends and Enemies of Modern Music).

I'm not sure if anyone knows that Machina II is their very last album and released free on the net for their fans. It consists of 1 album and 3 EPs.

Hummer- besides listening to it, I like to play it on my guitar. Its a great excuse to hook up the chorus and echo effects to use in the last 2 minutes or so.

1.Galapogos
2.Eye
3.Disarm

But my favorite album and most listened to SP vinyl would be Gish. I am also hooked with the music Corgan engineered exclusively for Gibson's movie "Ransom" (the music used when the kidnapped son was tied up in the room).
