Just got my Takstar Pro 80 clones and sadly they won't work unless I hold them steady in my laptop with my hand.
 
Its the same jack as the pic below, it looks like the jack in the middle. It originally had a large connector that had to be screwed off revealing the 3.5mm. My other headphones with L-jacks stay in perfectly fine, this jack seems like it needs to be screwed in or something.

 
Can anyone help? Could I tape it, or is there a headphone extension I need to use, or should I just return them?

You sure it's not the laptop that's causing the problem?
My Sony Vaio is very picky with what plugs into the headphone socket since the opening around it isn't big enough for some plugs with larger housings.
It's a real pain sometimes.

Never have problems with very small plugs, but even medium sized ones like the Rean/Neutrik one pictured above doesn't fit properly for me.

Well, yes I assume its the laptop causing the problem, it doesn't have the most solid headphone input jack anymore.
 
The thing is no other headphone jack causes the problem, this one is just so heavy. Should I buy a small extension cable to fix the problem and will this add notable impedance?

wouldn't the break in signal still cause impedance increase?

If you can hear difference in about few 0.1 Ohms increase in the total hp 60 Ohms impedance, than you are the first X-Men with bats ears!

I remember one of my headphones came with an extension cable, which was I would say 3', and I could DEFINITELY hear a large difference.
 
Locally I got a 6' cable, and it causes a pretty decent degradation of sound. I'm thinking of buying this:

Which is better? Or should I just sell the headphones and get something w/ less headache? thanks ahead of time!

The longer the cable the more resistance/impedance there is, so the shortest is the best, if can find one adapter without cable is the best.

If you don't like the sound of the hp at all, don't bother and find better one?
