They ship from hong kong and cost less than lunch. What do you think?

it wouldnt be the first time,
the company that makes them is called fostex and manufactures those headphones (with some driver tweaks depending on costumer) for razer, sharp, creative, senseiser, and AKG, and for other less known outfits, its quite easy for someone to order a batch of them with low grade drivers and then rebrand them to whatever maker you want to sell them off as,

fake CX300´s are a very very common sight on ebay, and the price is too good to be true (that auction price is about 7%-8% of full retail price for those headphones)

and you get get lunch for less then $6,99

They're called Foster, we know them in the US as Fostex.

They are one of the largest consumer electronics manufacturers in the world and you probably own at least a half dozen items that came from one of their factories.

The fakes probably come from a factory in HK that just took molds from a genuine pair at some point in the past, so that the outside looks the same.

Probably fake. I've had fake CX300s before and let me tell you, they sound absolutely horrible. The 2nd gen iBuds are far better.

FAKE.

feedback history is useless for these kinds of sellers because most will not post a negative comment for $5 item and risk a negative in retaliation.... even IF they were dis-satisfied.

Funny that right now there are over 40 auctions/BIN at ebay with fake AKG K324Ps and not even one real 324P for sale

Funny, too, how impossible it is for anyone to do anything about it.

Or maybe not. I have zilch interest in getting one, but I'd send an email to the seller beforehand about return policies and feedback criteria. Some sellers don't even know they're selling knock-offs, and most just want to have a smooth transaction with as little stress as possible; everybody HATES having to return merchandise. If enough sellers have to answer emails about bogus goods, or returning them, you'll end up leaving the manufacturers with the overstock.

Guys, I checked under "package content" in the auction details, and it's pretty clear that he will get a pair of genuine AKG K324P and NOT a pair of fakes. What gives?

ps. Don't tell me you seriously doubted if these were authentic. If you did, you should always check with someone else before buying something, cause it just doesn't get more obvious than this auction.

Products that are made in china and other parts of the far east are often available very cheaply out of those countries.

Like buying Seiko watches manufactured in singapore from ebay sellers in singapore. Totally entirely legit. Fakes are few and far between (and comically bad).

This is an item manufactured in Japan. Why would it be in hong kong at fire sale prices?

They're as fake as fake can be.
