Hi there! Just in reply to your inquiry about fake golds, they are indeed out there. Not too long ago I encountered some that this guy was trying to sell to me for unusually cheap, claiming he had "recieved them as a gift." The give-away was the interneal speaker on the inside once the tip had been removed. It should protrude out in a convex fashion, not go in like the fakes do. Another way I told the fakes from real is the packaging of the super tips and silicone tips as well as the packaging itself. Not to mention a complete lack of instruction manuals or anything.
 
That guy must've thought I was so naive. :/

Upon looking at this, there is a very good chance that these are real. A good way to be sure though is to go onto the Monster Cable website and look at the authorized dealers and approved internet resellers list. If this seller is up there, then $299 is a good price. But IMO, the best deal you can probably find right now is from this authorized reseller  on amazon.com. Cheers!

I just bought a pair of MTPC off Amazon, for the amazing price of $155 "used - like new." I am a little concerned they are fake because they were so cheap. The Amazon seller was called CheapSell. Comparing them to the many pictures, everything looks fine except that the L-plug is the longer version. Also, the strain reliefs near the drivers look like the one on the right in the above pics. Other than that, the 1/4 inch adapter is the Monster version, not the shortened version. And listening to them, they sound pretty great. I have never had a problem with a fake item from Amazon previously.

I'd love to buy the MDT fakes and compare it to the original, because I don't think it has been done before, but don't have the fund to buy the originals at the moment...

Just wanted to join and thank the OP for an extremely helpful post. I had just received some MTPC in the mail from an Amazon seller and recalled there were fakes out there. My search lead me here and I am now attempting to return a pair of unnecessarily expensive fakes to the seller. I've placed a real set on order from Overstock (I know they aren't an authorized reseller but $219 is a nice price). So thank you so much again OP for your post!

Hi recently purchased a pair of turbine copper pro's, and I followed this site heavily to make sure I wasn't buying fake headphones. The only thing I am skeptical about is the box, carrying case, and the model number (MH TBB-P IE CPR EFS). My carrier case is made of a leather like material, and most places I've looked they have a velvet carrying case. I've attached some pics, I just want a peace of mind knowing I bought real headphones, any input would be greatly appreciated!! The original person ordered this from futureshop during the boxing week sale.

they are real, monster is known for frequently changing the box cover as well as its carrying cases around, possibly to discourage counterfeiters.

1. Yours are real - good news
2. It is, but you need two things: 
-Proof of purchase (original)
-The item had to be bought from an authorised dealer
 
Say i bought some headphones from best buy for $10. Sold them on to you, I would need to provide you with that receipt of $10 (with my name on it).
And now that warranty will be covered in the US only. So if now u were living in the UK, you would have to contact Monster US to have it replaced.
