Fake Monster Turbine Pro Copper: Comparing REAL vs FAKE
Sep 3, 2012 at 9:53 PM Post #106 of 116
I ordered a pair from amazon (literally from amazon, not a third-party seller), and the box came in looking great, but the copper section has a bubble/missing piece in the copper color. Also, the monster logo on the back is already wearing off (and I've only had them for 3 days. Is this common? I know Monster doesn't have the best QC, but it seems odd that they arrived with a worn out looking turbine section and worn out logo.

Man... I read a lot of Pro Copper reviews with scepticism since nowhere was presented any info about the frequency range covered (5 - 25000 hz I figuered since they said it has wonderful lows and highs ) . Also I could not find the diameter on the driver, as I thought more is better. I had to replace my dead Sony MDR-XB40EX and I was offered a used Monster Turbine Pro Copper for only 115 USD from a friend of a friend who did not saw the difference between this and some iPhone headphones. I obviously thought that they are fake, but after hearing them and comparing the package contents I was convinced that they are originals. I gotta say that most of the good comment about them are true, I can hear sounds that I never knew that exist on some of my favourite tracks.  And I am not at all a sound specialist, but since a listen music regularly for at least 20 years with various headphones I can honestly say that the MTPC are worth every penny , used or new. All you need to do is to find a good in-ear position to hear then at full potential.

Here's a link to some photos, may some of you can confirm them as being originals : http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/583469806ZGdvGK

Does Turbine Copper with CONTROLTALK feature also come faked? I searched ali express (famous Chinese ebay-like site) and couldn't find any. Only regular Coppers for 40-50 USD (obvious fakes). Does it mean that it is safe to buy MTPC with control talk? Is it some sort of fake proof or not?

The tips in red and blue are not from Monster , no such color or shape exist in the original package. Check the photos from the first post here and then at least check on the MTPC you wanna buy the grille of the headphone if it is sinked or protubed. Also there are a lot of real/fake videos on youtube.

Time to bring this thread back from the dead! With my first post! Frowned upon I know, but I need help here. I ordered some used-like new MTPC's from amazon for $175... Now in this day and age the price doesn't seem suspect, but there are more fakes floating around than genuine at this point I'm sure.

My main question is: how likely is it to receive fakes from amazon? They're still being shipped so I have no way to analyze them but I'd like to know if there's any good chance that they could be fake from amazon. Thanks in advance

oh god, I had few years ago a fake turbine gold from ebay and it was horrible! Boomy cheap sound and it smelled awkward. After sometime, i have purchased a new pair from amazon germany. The quality between them was like night and day.

They look real as far as I can tell. Look at the batch number on the part where they split into 2
