Fake HD 25 or HD 25sp?!?!?

If you are talking about the std double-headband of the HD25-1, the answer is yes. The SP elements have, when you look, have a stop-block on each side so that the ends of round SP headband are kept centered. Simply take a scalpal and cut them out (the box is the same size for both)...........conversely, I have installed repacements of cut-to-size Lucite to do the oposite...............be sure of what you wish. Do you have a real need of the double headband?...........if your consideration is more comfort from the std single headband - the obvious answer is a Beyer headband cover as traditional with dt770-990 headphones.

..............OR.................a recabling via inversion of the elements. This happens when owner is too lazy/cheap to order HD25-13 copper-cored cable from Germany (for some reason Senn.USA does not import it) - you have not been clear enough in your questioning.
It certainly shows the cable has been shortened for portable use.

And it clearly shows the the earcups have been turned upside down to accomadate the HD650 cable that the seller used as a replacement cable. He also shortened it and placed a new plug on it, I guarantee that plug isn't used on a stock HD25-sp. Yes, as part of what BushGuy was saying, the 25-13 replacement cable costs a lot of money shipped to the U.S., much more than it's worth imo.

Both sides have cable entries on the HD25, it's just that the entry into the cups runs into the top of the cups normally, and only one side eventually has it running down the side. The HD25-SP also has writing on the sides of the cups that are clearly different from the HD25-1.

Using the HD650 cable and inverting the cups so that they can be used is a popular cable replacement route for many HD25 owners on this forum. Maybe you should do your research before accusing a head-fier w/ 3 pages of feedback of trying to rip you off in what would most certainly be a minimally profitable venture. Classy stuff.

Take it easy fellas all I did was ask a question and all of a sudden I'm pointing fingers? I can assure you that this thread wasn't intended to accuse a "head-fier w/ 3 pages of feedback" of scamming. I just thought posting up a thread would save me research time. I could have done without the attitude but thanks for the info guys.
