Pit walkabout pics:

I'm a Ferrari fan, but this was the car they were weighting when going through the pitwalkabaout (Thursday):

Today, the race pics:

Some of the "Grid girls", sorry for the wires and fences. No way around those unless having a pass to the actual race track right before the race:

My friends and I were sitting right in front of where Ralph Schumager's car stopped after his accident:

my parents are boring..

that's some serious machine for a safety car, is that a E55 wagon in the background?

Great Pics.

That looks like a bunch of fun and I'm sure you had a great time. How were your seats and what is the crowd like at GP races? I've never attended one and my son is dying to go. We have been trying to get into other forms of races besides NASCAR and Drag racing and F1 seems like a great series.

Nice photos! Especially the rear end of the McLaren. That would make a very cool wallpaper.

Another brilliant race me thinks. I especially love the on board moments from the in car camera showing the cars coming out of the turn for the start finish straight at full throttle. Amazing stuff.

Tickets were $85, it's a lot of fun and the crowds were pretty decent, no problem at all, I'd suggest taking your kids there, there were many kids with their parents actually, and it was such a nice day today, we had a real blast. Today particularly the race was full of events, so it was stressful, but shame to say, also exciting at the same time. The only thing to remember is to bring ear plugs, or at least to buy them in the entrance before the race. I made a little video of my Radio Shack volume meter going up to 115 dB's with some cars passing by in the middle of the race, pretty much every time a car passed by it was like that, and there are 73 laps, so you get an idea of the exposure to really extreme loudness. At the very start my meter went to 124 dB's! And I wasn't really in front of the start area but a little further back, kind of in front of the last cars in the alignment.

About the Mercedes wagon on the back of the safety car, not real sure about the exact model though.

If you'd like to have one of these pics for wallpaper, just PM me your email address indicating what pic you'd like, I'll send you the full size image which is much larger.

Hope you did too! We were in Stand A, Section 24, row K. Hey next year there could be a head-fi meet at an F1 race

Yes traffic was actually very good, we parked nearby in a resident's house for $20, 5 minutes away from the entrace.

I parked on a resident's lawn for the Brickyard 400 and the party after the race was as much fun as the race itself. The guy had a huge cookout and there were pretty girls everywhere. Of course, this was all lost on my 10 year old son who was only there for the racing.

Thanks for the pix, they really add something to the TV coverage (which was also very good. It was hilarious to watch Derek Dailey chasing folks for interviews before the race).

I think those are the cheesiest umbrella-chick costumes I have ever seen at an FIA or even an FIM race--what were they thinking?

Great shots! I'm sure you had a great time! I was there in 2000 for the G.P.

It is hard to describe to people what seeing Formula One 'live' is like. Nothing in the world like it! The absolute highest technology!! I have been a fan my entire life. And; I am a Michael Shumacher fan.

As a devout Mario / Michael Andretti fan; I also follow the IRL, Champ Car, and I love Sports Car racing. I grew up in Indianapolis.

What do you think AGR stands for, anyway??!!

The FIA really needs to re-address the safety thing again!! There was no excuse Ralf should have sat there that long unattended! Inexcusable!!

If that were a Champ Car race, the safety/emergency vehicles would have been moving toward the accident before the car ever even came to a rest.
