I have an EMU0404. It seems impossible to use a mic input on the thing.. and i cannot for the life of me figure it out.

What is the CHEAPEST way I can get mic input on my computer while using the 0404? I'm thinking any USB soundcard will work but.. where can I find one cheap?

Or a USB microphone for about $20...
And for an USB soundcard, if you just use it for voice and don't mind the quality, I think you can get one off Ebay for $10

To use a mic with your 0404 you need a preamp.

But the cheapest way I can think of would be to use the mic port of your motherboard's onboard sound. If you don't have onboard sound, then a USB mic sounds like the best solution.

I have a Marantz 1060 but i've tried working it every which way and cant get it. I would need to order a new breakout cable and stuff. I think i'll go with the logitech, thanks.

Note that I was assuming that you need a multimedia microphone for voice only, not for quality vocal recording. For quality vocal recording, there are other USB microphones available, from $100+ if I remember correctly.
