100+ Head-Fier
Ok, I know EQ can be a loaded topic but I'm interested in adding an outboard analog EQ to my setup.
I know I can add a software EQ at the beginning of the pipe but I find all the options for Mac pretty unenjoyable and I like the idea of just being able to reach over quickly after switching genres or headphones and bump this or that. I also recognize that I could look into something like an RME ADI-2 or a MiniDSP to do the adjustment but I love the sound of my Denafris Ares II and don't want to swap the DAC.
So... I'm looking for something to sit between my DAC and my amp. I've seen some good reviews of the Loki. Would like something with balanced XLR interconnects if possible and a few more frequencies to adjust would be nice. Rackmount stuff like the dbx 215s looks interesting but kind of an annoying config for a desktop. I'd love a pair of Warm Audio EQP-WA Tube EQs but that would put me out $1400!
Ideas, experience, suggestions? Thanks!
