I just did an experiment with following setup:
iPod (No EQ line-out) or PowerMac via (iTune; no EQ) --> Zu mini-RCA cable --> AE-1 amp --> Cardas mini-mini cable --> SR-71 --> 75ohms line adapter --> Shure E4 or Westone UM2.
First thing I immediately noticed was greater stereo separation, tighter bass, and very smooth sound, more than SR-71 alone. I am not an audiophile to describe what I am hearing but I really like this combination. I been listening with this new setup for about 4 hours...and it's growing on me
Has anyone tried to combine multiple amps and what's the "new" sound like, better or worse?
