Conventional wisdom:

ex71 terrible

ksc-35 and mx500 great (at this general price point)

why do you want buth ksc-35 and mx500?

do you need a high degree of isolation?

I have both MX500 and KSC-35. MX500 are good for when I need small headphones but I'm relatively stationary. They just don't stay in my ears when I move around a lot. The KSC-35s are good when I'm on the move and don't need isolation.

Get the KSC-35 and forget the rest. Do not even bother with EX71. If you need isolation save up for some low end Shure or Etymotic. Anything less (Koss Plug, Sony EX70/71, Aiwa HP600) is not worth the money.

Definitely don't get the EX71s...the sound quality isn't worth it, even if they cost less than they do. The KSC35s and MX500s are both great for on the go, and I personally don't have the problem with the MX500s of having them fall out of my ears...

Right now i have the Eggos, Ex70, MX300 *came with my iriver ifp-395 player*.. i should get my Portapros by saturday or monday...

So most of yall still the KSC-35 and MX500 better? eh?

I personally don't have a problem with the mx300 coming out of my ears.. but the thing is, i don't like putting on the cusson on, but then on the back of the earbud, it scratches my ears... i wonder is that how the mx500 is... :-/ thanks in advance guys

BTW, *answer to the first guy who replied* i want to get those because i hear other people say the ksc-35 and mx500 are pretty good..

I use my MX500s far more often than my PortaPros for two reasons:

1) They leak a hell of a lot less. Like, a HELL of a lot less. I listen in class quite often and that's a big deal, because I can raise the volume higher.
2) As a result of listening to my MX500s so often, the treble on the PortaPros sounds dull, recessed and yucky. Granted, they go much lower than the earbuds, and have a (bit) sweeter midrange, but that treble is just gorgeous. It's detailed and non-fatiguing, and, for a $15 earbud, the soundstage is nice and big.

I love my MX500s and couldn't possibly live without them.
