Actually I used to talk about B movies with a great musician friend and he was always talking about that above movie. I don't know if you have seen many Bava movies? So I had seen only a couple with Danger Diobolik being my favorite. He recomend Planet of the Vampires and it was a little hard to find.


Funny though because after seeing it I have come to realize it was totally responsible for the Alien series. If you see the move you will see the space ship is just like the one in the original Alien movie by HR Giger. Also the part where they find the giant alien and his ship with still working controls is just like Prometheus. And this is no connection by just luck, the concepts all are only from this one movie.

Still Bava was always known to Americans as having bad scripts and low funds to make his movies. He used colored lights and an amazing way of painting glass plates to film next to actors so that they looked like they actually had sets.
