I go this quite recently on account of her posthumous famousness. The problem is that it's got a BUZZ. A terrible buzz (or hiss) that is on all the best tracks which I bothered to listen closely to.

I've just quickly flipped over the tracks once again and the mastering is SHYTE.

Does anyone have a suggestion for Eva Cassidy albums where the recording quality isn't so dire?

The recording quality on all of the songs on all of her albums is OK to fair to poor. Some are just worse than others. Imagine is downright poor. However, my copy of Songbird doesn't seem to sound quite as bad as you describe yours sounding. Maybe it's just my poor old ears. But is it possible for you to exchange yours for another copy?

In Fields Of Gold for example, there's a fizz/buzz in the entire track, particularly noticeable when it's just the voice. Maybe my setup is too revealing. Listening to the MD rip of it via the Eurodesk mixer now using the MDR-CD1700, the buzz is much less noticeable. Going back to the main headphone setup however, it's immediately there.
