Even though I had read about the low output issue of recent Sony pcdp, and of the EJ2000 in particular, I ended up buying an european unit from Ebay (...I told you so...) at a fair price. In the threads I looked into (the latest from 2004), it was said that this had to do with the hardware, in order to comply with a EU directive, and that it coudn't be fixed.
Does anybody know if there is something that can be done - a tweak/part replacement...- to increase its 0.5 mW to the 5 mW rest of the world standard?
I plan to use it with a Grado SR60 and my guess is that it won't get loud!

Well, even if it turns out to be a lost cause, I can always get a portable amp (Corda Porta MKIII?...) to use with the line out

Well I've looked everywhere to try and find a fix for my D-NE10 to increase its current EU output of 1.5mW to the international 5.0mW output, but it was nowhere to be found. The sony mini disk players seem to have a hidden service menu where the volume cap can be bypassed, but this does not seem to be the case with the discmans. Its a shame really, because on the whole the D-NE10 is a great player, it just sounds too weak.

At the moment it is just gathering dust and I'm not prepared to sell it off for under £50, when I actually paid £140 for it.
